Denim Invasion

It’s all about taking your look from day to night, especially for the youth of today. Wardrobe staples have to last, which means choices are made on quality and styles that will last you for years.

An example are denims that have always been part of every teen’s top picks. With athleisure and distress styles still very much on the rise, these two themes are incorporated in everyone’s go-to denim pieces. Here are some style tips to get you started in building up your SM YOUTH denim closet staples:

Tee Culture and Character brands

Athleisure is reinterpreted with mix of blues through jeans with side tapes and stripes, giving it a sporty appeal. Pair them with geometric prints and stripes for an extra dose of fun. Long sleeves are also a great way to layer up on the season’s hottest geometric prints. Choose from sweaters, cardigans, and jackets in denim and bomber styles.
Just when you think distressed denim is over, here comes more ways to toughen up your pants. From frayed hems, to bigger rips that expose your thighs, there are so many ways to express yourselves when it comes to denim tears. Even the girls have fun with boyfriend jeans, especially because of the ripped detailing. They especially love playing with textures by mixing soft knits with rugged denim.
Fubu and Tribal

SM YOUTH brand ambassador Tommy Esguerra shares his denim looks: “ For casual days, I fold the sleeves but not too polished to keep it casual. I mix them around with either fitted jeans or loose straight cut jeans from Smyth especially the ones with designs when you cuff them. I complete the outfit with chunky trainers and accessories such as rings and necklaces which I got influences by my friends.” When asked how he gets ready for night outs, “I tuck my shirt in when I wear a pair of Smyth fitted jeans. If the shirts are boxy, I keep them untucked. I also accessorise with a belt, watch, and Smyth jacket.”  Tommy plays up his look with shirts from Smyth, Character brands, Tee Culture, Fubu, Jag Thug, and Tribal.
