Warner TV treated pop culture fans to a whole day of fun-filled activities and freebies at the second annual Warner TV Pop Expo held at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City, on July 14.
The streets of BGC turned into a big hub for thousands of fans who flocked to experience the biggest outdoor pop culture expo in the Philippines.
From taking ”dunkfies” at The Dunk King photo-booth to having an IG-worthy photo with the squad at the Studio City, participants enjoyed a day-long event that featured interactive games and activities. The alleys of BGC also turned into a huge canvas as local street artists filled it with creatively-curated murals.
Epic battles were witnessed, skills were tested, and heroes emerged at the Heroic Training Grounds inspired by favorite TV shows such as Arrow and Lethal Weapon, with activities such as Archery Attack, swordplay, and the all-new Toy Pistol Shooting Range. On-stage activities as well as pocket games like table top gaming and computer game tournaments kept the fans excited and enthusiastic all day long.
Aside from performances from local bands such as NanayMo, Hansom, BennyBunnyBand, and Cheats, the event also became an avenue for local artists to connect and discuss the trends in pop culture at the Pop Panel Talks. DC Comics, Carlo Pagulayan and Harvey Tolibao, as well as Pol Medina Jr. of Pugad Baboy graced the event and inspired other artists to continue honing their craft.
Fanboys and girls were delighted to see Stickertopia, Toy Mania, Comic Alley, and Cartoon Network at the Comics Pavilion tent where a wide range of toys, comics and other cool collectibles were housed. The tent also accommodated artists who accepted commissioned work on the spot.
Warner TV Pop Expo celebrates pop culture in all forms comics, art, movie and TV series, as well as gaming and all things tech. Organized by Warner TV Philippines and its partners, the expo brought pop culture fans together through an event that’s not geeky, fun and family-friendly! Warner TV is home to TV series inspired by DC Comics including Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Krypton.
