A beautiful story on love, acceptance, and equality is finding a new home, and an even bigger audience.
Nathan Studios’ “I’mPerfect,” the Best Picture winner of the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), is now streaming on Netflix and has climbed to the No. 1 spot among the platform’s most-streamed movies in the Philippines.
The film also made history at the MMFF when its lead star Krystel Go won Best Actress, a milestone for representation of people with Down Syndrome in Philippine cinema.
But beyond the awards and its latest streaming success, “ImPerfect” has always carried a message bigger than the movie itself.

“Hindi sila iba sa atin. May pangarap sila, marunong silang magmahal, gusto nilang magtrabaho at gusto rin nilang mabigyan ng pagkakataon. Sana pagkatapos mapanood ang pelikula, mas makita natin sila nang pantay, hindi dahil naaawa tayo, kundi dahil karapatan nila iyon.”
For Ria, becoming No. 1 on Netflix gives the advocacy behind “I’mPerfect” an even wider platform.
“Every new person who watches ‘I’mPerfect’ helps carry its message forward. Inclusion is not about giving people with Down Syndrome special treatment. It is about making sure they are given the same dignity, opportunities, and freedom to dream that all of us deserve,” says Ria.
