With “Silent Night,” John Woo makes his much-awaited comeback to the film industry. Now working his cinematic magic once more after a two-decade break, the legendary action-thriller filmmaker is known for his work in action movies, particularly in the Hong Kong cinema and Hollywood.
Joel Kinnaman, a well-known Swedish actor most recognized for his parts in the “Suicide Squad” movies, the “Robocop” remake from 2014, and the Netflix series “House of Cards,” is the star of “Silent Night.” In Kinnaman’s portrayal, a father-turned-speechless-vigilante is seeking justice for his son who was accidentally killed in the course of a shootout between gang members. While recovering from a wound that costs him his voice, Kinnaman’s character goes through a physical transformation as he picks up combat skills and prepares for the showdown with the gang member who killed his kid.

“Silent Night” costars Scott Mescudi, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Harold Torres. This arthouse experiment picture is produced alongside Basil Iwanyk, the man behind hit series like “John Wick” and “The Expendables.”
