If you’re looking to make your mark in VALORANT Esports, the 2027 VCT Pacific season is bringing more opportunities than ever before. The new structure replaces the traditional Stage 1 and Stage 2 tournaments with two Cups that lead to global events, Masters Valencia and Champions Austin, while keeping Kickoff as the season-opening competition. More importantly, the revamped system is designed to give you multiple pathways to compete, whether you’re part of an established organization or an aspiring Open team.
As a competitor in the Asia-Pacific region, you’ll have the chance to qualify through a series of regional Opens, Play-ins, Playoffs, and Last Chance Qualifiers. The goal is to create a merit-based ecosystem where your results on the server matter most. Even if you’re not a partnered team, you can still work your way up to the highest levels of competition through consistent performance.
When you reach Kickoff or one of the Cups, you’ll be competing against the best teams in the region in LAN events hosted across Asia Pacific. In 2027, Kickoff heads to Bangkok, Cup 1 takes place in Manila, and Cup 2 lands in Tokyo. Beyond qualification for global tournaments, Open teams that reach Kickoff or a Cup will receive a fixed payout of US$100,000 per event, ensuring strong performances are rewarded regardless of partnership status.
Your regional path will depend on where you compete. Direct Cup slots are allocated to Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia, while South Asia and Oceania can qualify through the Pacific Last Chance Qualifier. This structure gives teams from across the region opportunities to advance, while guaranteeing pathways for Open teams even when partnered organizations dominate regional standings.
To start your journey, you’ll enter Open Qualifiers, where multiple tournaments throughout the season allow you to earn a place in your regional Playoffs. If you don’t qualify on your first attempt, you’ll have additional chances through future qualifiers. Strong performances can then take you to Play-ins and eventually Playoffs, where the top eight teams in each region battle for Cup qualification. Teams that excel at global events receive advantages such as direct seeding into future regional Playoffs, but every team must continue proving itself through results.
If your region doesn’t have a direct Cup slot, you can still fight your way into the competition through the Pacific LCQ. This tournament gives teams from South Asia, Oceania, and select playoff finishers from Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam one final shot at reaching the Cups. A separate Kickoff LCQ will also determine the final Open team spots for the season-opening event.
Even if you’re representing a partnered organization, success is not guaranteed. While partnered teams automatically qualify for Kickoff, they must earn every opportunity beyond that. Failure to qualify for international events means dropping into Play-ins, and potentially even Open Qualifiers, just like everyone else. The new system ensures that every match matters and every team, partnered or Open, has the chance to rise through performance.
As the 2027 season approaches, your next opportunity will come through the upcoming regional Kickoff Open Qualifiers. Whether you’re chasing your first breakthrough or aiming to establish yourself among APAC’s elite, the new VCT Pacific format is built to give you more chances to compete, improve, and reach the top.
