It’s really cool to see more manufacturers leaning into the all-white aesthetic for these modules. I spend my entire work week buried in server racks dealing with utilitarian hardware—usually swapping out HBA mezzanine cards or configuring RAID controllers https://serverorbit.com/hba-and-controllers/mezzanine-card/raid-controller where airflow is the only thing that matters, not looks. So, when I get back to my personal rig, I actually really appreciate components that have a bit of style to them.
The mention of the “Infrared Sync Technology” to keep the LEDs aligned is a nice touch. It sounds like a minor detail, but having your lighting effects slowly drift out of sync over a few hours is surprisingly annoying when you have a glass side panel staring at you.
It makes me wonder though—with DDR5 slowly taking over the high-end market, how much longer do you think companies will keep releasing these kinds of “Special Edition” tiers for the DDR4 platform?
