Thai superstar Yaya Sperbund is in the country to promote Thailand among Filipinos and her fans. The ’Crown Princess’ star is one of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s ambassadors tasked to promote its brand and Thailand’s destinations. While in Manila, Yaya will be meeting fans and participating in a couple of events organized by TAT.
During a press conference at Dusit Thani Manila on June 13, Yaya talked about what makes Thailand stand-out from other Southeast Asian destinations and why it’s a must-visit destination all-year round for Filipinos.
“There is always something new and special to experience in Thailand. I’ve always described it as a country that’s full of life. From the busy streets of Bangkok which I know a lot of Filipinos love because of the street food and shopping, Thailand also offers its visitor a different experience when you explore its lush Northern regions or the exotic islands in its Southern parts,” said Yaya. A country that embraces diversity, Thailand also made strides as an ideal destination for its visitors beyond its natural beauty, culture, and cuisine. In fact, Thailand embraces and welcomes all visitors as it encourages them to experience its different shades regardless of identity, age, color, and who they love. This led to the ’Land of Smiles’ being recognized as safe haven for members of the LGBTQ community.
Yaya also shared what it was like representing her country, describing it’s as a surreal experience.
“The opportunity to represent and promote Thailand to millions of travelers from all over the world has truly been a surreal experience for me. It’s not every day you are given this opportunity, and I think I have my fans to thank for making my platform known for TAT to notice and partner with me”, said Yaya.She adds, “Spending the entirety of my life in Thailand and traveling around the country have given me so much experience and insights that I enthusiastically share with those l meet especially with my fans. it has actually become second nature to me to share my love for it and encourage people to visit even before I became an ambassador for the Tourism Authority of Thailand.”
During her stay, Yaya will grace the runway to showcase the best of Thai fashion and culture along with select local celebrities and models in an exclusive gala event to be attended by dignitaries, media, trade partners, and LGBTQ advocates. Fans, on the other hand, will also get a chance to meet TAT’s ambassador during a mall show on June 15, 2019 (Saturday), at the Ayala Mall Circuit in Makati City at 1PM.
