Booking data from Klook, the leading pan-regional experiences platform in Asia Pacific, reveals the travel goals Filipinos are chasing to cross off their list this year-end. While Japan remains the top destination, northern Vietnam is rapidly emerging as a favorite cold-weather getaway, alongside nearby destinations attracting travelers with unique outdoor experiences and events.
“While getaways to cooler destinations remain popular, more Filipino travelers are discovering alternative ways to beat the heat and enjoy the last quarter of the year closer to home,” says Michelle Ho, General Manager, Klook Philippines. “It’s all about curating new and refreshing experiences and bridging the gaps in between so travelers will not have to worry about what comes next. Travelers can pick out experiences, and Klook will help them cross it off their wish list every step of the way.”
Chasing the cold outdoors
While Japan is a regular seasonal draw for travelers seeking colder weather with one out of five Filipinos choosing the destination, Vietnam’s northern region is also becoming an up-and-coming spot. Cities and towns such as Hanoi, Ha Long, and Sapa are drawing most of the bookings to Vietnam, with rising interest in activities such as alpine coasters, cable car rides, and local village tours.
Filipinos are also exploring more outdoor activities in Taiwan and are booking seasonal experiences such as various hot springs and mountain tours. The cooler winter season provides the perfect atmosphere for relaxing days at Beitou, calm walks around Taichung, and scenic hikes around Taroko Gorge.
Traveling for entertainment
Concert season is shaping plans too. Klook data shows that Filipinos are one of the top source markets for BTS’s highly anticipated Singapore shows. Aside from the concert itself, a month-long and island-wide series of activities will welcome fans, including themed experiences and light shows at select attractions and museums, among others.
Klook Travel Pulse 2026 data also reveals 90% of Filipino travelers who travel for a concert extend their stay to explore the destination, with 78% of them staying up to an additional four days.
Home stays in the mix
With events and holiday plans taking form over the next couple of weeks, Filipinos are seeking out slow days and staycations around the metro. Bookings within Manila are up 46.5%, for local accommodations and short-term stays, with many local attractions and activities also gaining traction among families.
Bookings for island destinations are also up, with Boracay and Cebu seeing steady visitors despite the off-season..
