The Jollibee Group is bringing its inclusive jobs program for qualified senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) to the Visayas for the first time through a new partnership with the Cebu City Government.
The partnership will provide opportunities to qualified senior citizens and PWDs to work as customer relations staff across 36 participating stores of Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King.
The Cebu City partnership marks a new milestone as the first engagement in the Visayas region.
“Bringing this program to Cebu City is an important step in making inclusive employment opportunities available to more Filipinos across the country,” said Joseph Tanbuntiong, Chief Executive Officer, Jollibee Group Philippines, and Head, Jollibee Brand Global. “As we grow and serve more communities, we also want to create meaningful opportunities for people who have the capacity and desire to contribute. We are grateful to the Cebu City Government for working with us to bring this initiative to the Visayas for the first time.”
Bringing opportunities closer to more communities
Expanding the program to more cities and provinces allows Jollibee Group and its local government partners to create opportunities closer to where qualified senior citizens and PWDs live, while helping them stay connected, productive, and engaged.
As with the Group’s previous LGU partnerships, the Cebu City Government will support the program through its relevant offices, helping facilitate applicant intake and profiling, necessary health clearances, training and information dissemination, as well as monitoring and other forms of applicant support.
For its part, Jollibee Group will support qualified applicants by providing job orientation, training, and facilitating the opening of payroll bank accounts free of charge. These responsibilities follow the support model used in Jollibee Group’s established partnerships with various LGUs in NCR.
“As your partner from the business sector, the Jollibee Group stays committed to supporting the employment initiatives of the local government. We believe in honoring the invaluable role of every member of society, regardless of age or ability. Most of all, we believe that inclusion becomes more meaningful when opportunities are made real, accessible, and purposeful for the people who need them most,” said Ruth Angeles, Chief Human Resources Officer, Jollibee Group Philippines and Human Resources Head, Jollibee Brand International.
Building on an inclusive employment program
Since it began in 2019, Jollibee Group’s inclusive employment program, which aligns with the sustainability agenda Joy For Tomorrow, has provided opportunities to more than 1,000 senior citizens and PWDs, and has since expanded through partnerships with local government. In participating stores, qualified individuals support store teams in customer-facing roles — including customer relations and other front-of-house functions — helping create welcoming experiences for customers while remaining active and productive members of their communities. In 2025, 451 individuals were newly hired, including 166 deaf-mute employees and 285 senior citizens.
The Cebu City partnership extends that commitment to the Visayas and represents another step in Jollibee Group’s continuing efforts to create workplaces where more people have opportunities to participate, contribute, and thrive.
