“Taiwan Day 2026” Brings Taipei Ticket Raffle, Human Claw Machine to One Ayala in Manila

The Taiwan Tourism Administration will host “Taiwan Day 2026”, the first flagship event of its 2026 promotional campaign in the Philippines, on August 22-23 at Level 2, Concourse, One Ayala in Makati City. Admission is free, and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days.

According to the latest statistics from the Taiwan Tourism Administration, 400,827 Filipino visitors traveled to Taiwan in the first half of 2026, representing a 28% increase compared to 312,821 visitors during the same period in 2025. The Philippines has remained Taiwan’s largest source market in Southeast Asia.

To keep arrivals climbing, the Taiwan Tourism Administration has built its 2026 Philippine campaign around the theme “Taiwan 100 Ways.” The campaign sets out four travel themes and pairs each with a Filipino creator who has more than 1 million followers.

The event launches the “Taiwan 100 Ways – Film Your Way” short-video contest, inviting people across the Philippines to show new ways of traveling in Taiwan from their own perspectives.

Top Influencers Explore Taiwan: Four Themes Revealed

Social media plays a large part in how Filipinos plan trips, so the Taiwan Tourism Administration invited four leading creators to document a different side of Taiwan.

On the food route, “Waves of Flavor”, fashion and lifestyle creator Laureen Uy-Cruz explores Michelin Guide restaurants, including Michelin-Starred and Bib Gourmand picks, in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung.

On the culture route, “Waves of Culture”, the duo behind travel blog The Poor Traveler visits Tamsui Old Street, Tangweigou Hot Spring Park in Jiaoxi, Yilan County, and the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival, showcasing the charm of Taiwanese festivals and old-street culture.

On the outdoor route, “Waves of Vitality”, vlogger-actor Kimpoy Feliciano heads to Sun Moon Lake, the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village and Guguan Hot Springs, to experience various outdoor activities in Taiwan.

On the stopover route, “Waves of Stopover”, former flight attendant Jen Barangan-David shows how passengers with a long layover at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport can visit the Danjiang Bridge, Tamsui Old Street, Dihua Street in Dadaocheng, the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Ximending and Taipei 101.

Among the highlights is the newly completed Danjiang Bridge, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and inspired by the movement of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre dancers. It has the world’s longest main span for a cable-stayed bridge carried on a single off-center tower. Visitors on the bridge look out over the Tamsui River estuary, from afternoon light to sunset to the lighted skyline at night, making it an ideal spot for taking photos and checking in. The bridge also improves regional connectivity while linking the North Coast’s scenic mountain and coastal attractions, with strong potential to attract international visitors.

Interactive Stations and On-Site Highlights

The venue features four immersive themed stations. Visitors collect stamps on a digital card as they go. Three stamps earn an entry into the raffle for round-trip tickets between Manila and Taipei, courtesy of EVA Airways. Four stamps earn a turn at the Human Claw Machine, where players have a chance to grab Taiwanese prizes.

The event also includes the “Taiwan Connection Station”, a retro-style phone booth encouraging visitors to reach out to family and friends in Taiwan.

Short-Video Contest

The “Taiwan 100 Ways – Film Your Way” contest is open to all Filipinos, whether or not they have been to Taiwan. Entries must be 30 to 60 seconds long and shot vertically for Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. They may use footage from an actual trip or build an original concept inspired by Taiwan.

Submissions open Aug. 22, 2026, and close Jan. 15, 2027. Winners will be announced at “Taiwan Day 2027” in Cebu in March 2027. Full contest rules and entry details are posted on the official Facebook page: Taiwan Tourism PH (facebook.com/TaiwanTourismPH).
