Wild Rift Celebrates Six Years with Biggest Wave of Updates Yet

Catch Patch 7.2 highlights and what’s next on the Rift this August.

Marking its sixth anniversary and the broader League Classic celebration, Riot Games‘ hit mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, League of Legends: Wild Rift, continues to roll out one of its biggest update cycles to date. Since the game’s Patch 7.2 went live on July 6, global and Filipino players have experienced new champions, major gameplay and system upgrades, and nostalgic augments inspired by League’s legacy. Wild Rift keeps the momentum going with even more classic updates and surprises set to arrive in August.

Game and System Upgrades

Wild Rift’s patch updates focused on developing the game’s core experience further. Among the biggest shifts is the redesigned Enchantments System, which transforms Enchantments into standalone active items that offer greater flexibility and more meaningful item choices. Together with updates to ranked progression, the Trial/Revival System, bounties, and other core systems, Riot Games continues to address long-standing player feedback with every patch, creating a fairer and more competitive experience for players of all skill levels.

More Ways to Play at the Rift

The celebrations also brought plenty of fresh content to explore. Following the arrival of Wild Rift’ original champion, Norra, the updates refreshed one of League’s most iconic champions with Ahri‘s full Art and Sustainability Update (ASU). Players have been enjoying more than a dozen new skins, including the Weather Deity and Summer Party collections, offering even more ways to personalize their experiences on the Rift. Further updates include the recent addition of  Yunara, the release of Cho’Gath starting August 7, and the arrival of fan-favorite collection Crystal Rose on August 14.

The Wild Rift community may soon expect sentimental fun with Classic Moment, a special in-game experience that celebrates League’s legacy on the Rift. Players can relish nostalgia and relive iconic abilities, items, runes, and mechanics through League-themed AAA ARAM augments and the return of AAA ARAM Classic this August 7.

The event will also feature Echoes on the Rift, where players can link their League of Legends and Wild Rift accounts to unlock exclusive rewards and personalized memories, alongside Annie-versary, a tribute to the stream that first introduced Wild Rift, plus more anniversary rewards and limited-time content.

Players can get a first look at what’s next by tuning in to the upcoming Classic Wild Stream. The livestream will feature an epic showdown of OGs battling other players—all while showcasing the latest gameplay updates shaping the Rift. The battle will feature renowned content creators such as the duo of V33Wise consisting of Oh my Veenus and Wise Gaming, Leomiho, Vanny Bear, Kapitan Pugo, and more.
