LEAGUE OF LEGENDS CLASSIC RELEASES IN PATCH 26.15

League of Legends Classic is set to launch on July 29, 2026, with Patch 26.15, bringing players back to the roots of the game while introducing modern refinements. Anchored in the spirit of Season 3, this new mode recreates the early Summoner’s Rift map, champion kits, and fan‑favorite items, offering a nostalgic yet refreshed experience for both longtime fans and returning players.

The Classic mode will feature old‑school Runes, Masteries, Summoner Spells, and a starting roster of 60 champions, many with their pre‑rework kits. Combat pacing is designed to reflect the sharper strengths and weaknesses of early League, encouraging strategic decision‑making. The Summoner’s Rift map has been updated with improved lighting, textures, and shadows to enhance clarity while preserving its original feel. As Executive Producer Paul Bellezza explains, “League Classic is personal for us… We want this to scratch that itch while still bringing something new to the table.”

At launch, players can enjoy a PvP draft queue, Co‑op vs AI, and custom games. Progression comes through Classic Levels, a free track that unlocks Runes, Masteries, IP, BE, and cosmetics. Upon reaching Level 10, players embark on the Summoner’s Journey, progressing from Salt to Legend. This one‑time progression system mirrors account levels, ensuring every player has a sense of growth and achievement within Classic.

League Classic also revives iconic items and builds, alongside the return of traditional Runes and Masteries with a simplified unlock system. Seasonal Classic Passes will provide free and paid tracks, offering rewards such as Rune Pages, emotes, titles, and exclusive Classic Skins. These skins recreate the look of champions from 2009–2013, with unlockable Chromas and new cosmetic Portraits that rotate in loading screens, giving players fresh ways to showcase their style.

Finally, Riot introduces The Council, a community voting system that empowers players to influence future Classic development. While balance remains in the hands of the developers, fans can vote on champion additions, skin releases, and select gameplay changes. With League Classic, Riot Games aims to honor the roots of League of Legends while building a collaborative future shaped by its community.
