Yabu: The House of Katsu, the Philippines’ pioneer in authentic Japanese katsu, opens its first branch in Central Luzon at SM City Marilao on May 26, 2026. After more than a decade of welcoming Filipino families across Metro Manila, Yabu is now bringing its katsu mastery and signature dining experience to Bulacan.

Coming Home to the North

For years, Bulacan guests have made Yabu a destination, travelling to Metro Manila to come home to their katsu favorites. With the opening in SM City Marilao, Yabu is now bringing that home closer. This new branch marks Yabu’s first step into Central Luzon, part of its continued growth as a brand committed to reaching more Filipino families wherever they are.

Yabu SM City Marilao is the next chapter in the brand’s expanding nationwide presence, and a sign of more to come for communities outside the metro.

The Same Great Katsu with the Same Rituals

Guests at SM City Marilao can look forward to the full Yabu: House of Katsu experience, featuring hand-breaded katsu fried with fresh, in-house made panko, served with unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, cabbage, and fresh fruits.

At the heart of every visit is the Yabu ritual: guests grind their own sesame seeds, pour the house-made tonkatsu sauce, and dip their tonkatsu. It’s a small moment that has made Yabu feel like home for over a decade, and now, it’s finally waiting for Bulacan.

The complete Yabu menu is available at SM City Marilao, from the classic Katsu Sets and premium Kurobuta, to the new Crispy Katsudon, the beloved Tornado Curry, and a full selection of their new sushi rolls, appetizers, and desserts such as the Tiramisu.

Designed to Feel Like Home

Built to Yabu’s current store standard, the SM City Marilao branch features the brand’s signature masu cup walls, inspired by traditional Japanese sake vessels, and a hand-drawn manga wall celebrating Yabu’s katsu mastery. Together with warm, attentive service, the space is designed to make every guest feel right at home from the moment they walk in.

Yabu: The House of Katsu SM City Marilao opens at the Ground Level, SM City Marilao, Bulacan. Open daily during mall hours: Weekends (Mon – Fri) from 11AM to 9PM, Weekdays (Sat – Sun) from 10AM to 9PM.
