CIMB Bank app wins Best Mobile Banking App in PH

CIMB Bank Philippines’ app was recently awarded as the Best Mobile Banking App—Philippines 2023 by Brands and Business Magazine, a publication that aims to spread financial literacy and business intelligence worldwide.

The Brands and Business Magazine Awards rewards institutions and initiatives that produce breakthrough concepts and innovations that contribute to society and promote synergy across platforms.  CIMB Bank PH is the only Philippine bank in this year’s roster of winners.

“As a digital-only commercial bank, our app is our main customer touchpoint. This is why we ensure our app delivers the best and most convenient experience for customers every time they log in. From ease of use to functionality and best-in-class security, we make sure our app is always at its best to serve our customers better,” said Vijay Manoharan, CIMB Bank Philippines Chief Executive Officer.

CIMB Bank PH’s over 7 million customers have access to the app, allowing them to do their transactions easily and with no fees. New users can also open a Fast Plus or UpSave savings account in less than 10 minutes seamlessly at their convenience – without the hassle of visiting a physical bank. Applying to REVI Credit or a personal loan is also made convenient and accessible through the CIMB mobile app.

Customers can also apply for a CIMB Virtual Debit Card in minutes, which can immediately be used for online purchases. This virtual card allows customers the flexibility to choose whichever savings account they’d like to tag the card to and easily set daily limits depending on their needs.

Aside from allowing customers to easily perform financial transactions on the app, customers can also easily reach out to CIMB’s customer service team for any queries or concerns, all via the same mobile app through its Secured Messaging feature. This gives CIMB customers better control over their time without the need to call.

The bank has partnered with companies such as GCash for customers to avail of GSave and GCredit products, as well as with Shopee for the SPayLater credit product, both of which are underwritten by CIMB. Through this partnership, customers can automatically have access to the CIMB PH mobile app through simple app-linking steps.

Since the enhanced app’s launch in May 2022, more features that deliver an even more delightful digital banking experience are also in the pipeline. “We are looking into more personalized experiences for our customers, from the way the app is curated to the way we interact with them with tailored offerings and products,” Chief Innovation Officer Shereen Michelle shared. “Our customers should be fully empowered to have control of their finances and be equipped to make the best decisions, and we have exciting new features in the pipeline so we can further support our customers to live their purpose.”

Security is also a top priority for CIMB. As a digital-only commercial bank, it invests heavily in security platforms and assets to ensure customers remain safe. Notable investments include its fraud management system, network and infrastructure cyber defenses, and application-level security controls. CIMB is also developing ways to give full control to the customers to perform actions related to account management—seamlessly and in real time—without any intervention from the bank.

Lastly, customers can expect the addition of a standardized national QR payment option and 24/7 real-time customer service with the power of AI, which can help them live their purpose with the use of personal finance management features.

CIMB Bank PH continues its mission to help Filipinos live their purpose and securely bank digitally with ease. Download the CIMB Bank PH app today on iOS or on the Google Play store to experience the difference.
