A PAWsome weekend indeed for pet lovers and their well-loved furbabies as they all gathered at the 2nd anniversary of SM City Taytay’s Pet Park.
During the fun event, pawrents and their furbabies experienced series of fun activities such as free vet consultation, free grooming, free vaccination, photo booth, raffle and games.
Thinking of adding a pet to your pawmily? Here are few reasons why Pet Park encourages potential pawrent to practice their Adopt Don’t Shop campaign:
- Because it’s one way to fight puppy mills. If you buy a dog from a pet store,online seller or flea market, you’re almost certainly getting a dog from a puppy mill, or the factory-style breeding facilities that oftentimes, put profit above the welfare of dogs.
- Because adoption helps more than just one animal. Overburdened shelters take in millions of stray, abused and lost animals each year, and by adopting an animal, you’re making room for others.
- Because it’ll cost you less. According to Bernie Alfonso, Philippine Pet Fashion Icon, usually when you adopt a pet, the cost of spay/neuter, first vaccinations is included in the adoption price, which can save you some of the up front costs of adding a new member to your family.
- Because you’ll change a homeless animal’s whole world. And get a new best friend out of the deal. Seriously, what could be better than that?
To date, the SM Pet Park has mini pet pool, covered multi-purpose area for pet events, colorful benches, and an improved agility training area.
August 26 of 2017, the first-ever Pet Park at SM Supermalls was inaugurated, coinciding with the celebration of International Dog Day. SM Supermalls decided to build the 1st SM Pet Park as a way of giving back and contributing to the community’s development but also as gesture of support in awareness on proper pet care and to show how it understands that beloved pets should also be welcome for a better mall experience.
Meanwhile, the SM PET CLUB was also introduced in 2018, opening doors to pawrents and furbabies, providing exclusive invites and exciting perks during events, discount on Pet Park promos or pet training and also the free use of the Pet Park for their pet’s birthday.
