Here are some recommended food stops for a starter:

 

Sunnies Cup Point

Cup Point, Sunnies Specs Optical in-store café, is about enjoying a cup of coffee while waiting for your new glasses, or simply a place to hang out, study, work or maybe just relax. Their signature “Out of Office” blend is a robust yet relaxing roast of cacao with a hint of orange zest.

Unlike Sunnies Café, they only have a few drinks here, pretty much covering the essentials: espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte, mocha, matcha, and honey (their signature drink made with espresso, milk, cinnamon, and honey). Hot beverages in 12oz cup range from P100 to P130, while a cold drink in 16oz cup is from P120 to P150 price points.

Also, they have three flavors for the milkshakes: cookies (made with cookies and cream ice cream, Nutella, crushed Oreos, whipped cream, and malted milk), cereal (made with cinnamon frosted cereal, vanilla ice cream, milk, and cinnamon), and matcha (made with green tea ice cream, matcha powder, rice krispies, whipped cream and malted milk). All three is priced at P180.

Cup Point is located inside Sunnies Specs Optical on the 2nd floor of SM Marikina.

 

Samgyeopmasarap

Samgyeopmasarap is one of the most affordable and accessible K-BBQ restaurants that offer AYCE meat. It will treat you to an exciting selection of meat cuts that are seasoned to suit your average Filipino’s taste.

They are offering unlimeat of BBQ pork belly (marinated and in salt & pepper) for P399, BBQ beef (marinated and in salt & pepper) for P499, and marinated boneless Chicken BBQ for P349. All 3 meat options come with generous in serving of rice, lettuce and 7 other side dishes such as marble potatoes, fish cakes, kimchi, anchovies, onions, and pickled radish.

Pork meat is in thin cuts, making them easier to cook and crispy. Their beef was also seasoned well. The chicken was tender, and very flavorful.

Aside from the unlimeat, Samgyeopmasarap also offers ala cartes: Bibimbap (P250), Japche (P300), Beef rib stew (P300), Bulgogi (P300), Pajeon (P200), Egg roll (P150) and Egg jjim (P150).

Drinks? They offer soju, beer, soft drinks and iced tea.

With the tagline, “a piece of happiness shared in a cup,” trending HK egg waffle i love bubble waffle delivers tasty and new first in the market flavored egg-shaped waffle, multiple toppings, served quickly and are completely budget friendly.

They also have other flavors available aside from the classic waffle – Strawberry, Blueberry, Coffee, Detox, Koko Krunch, Matcha and premier flavors Ham & Cheese and Bacon S’mores.

Aside from their classic and flavored waffles, you can also opt to add a scoop of ice cream, dazzle of syrup, and toppings.

Instead of a Belgian waffle’s grid, a bubble waffle consists of an interconnected hive of spheres. Think bubble wrap, but edible. The batter is cooked in a special mold. The eggs, incorporated into the batter, and the end result is a waffle soft on the inside with crisp edges which can be easily broken off for snacking.

For as low P45, you get to enjoy this famous waffle and satisfy your cravings.

Roberto’s is a Pinoy-American steak house that offers 100% Australian beef and with a Western flavors among its menu.

Start your weekend with a fancy and satisfying meal by trying out classic combination of steak and potato with their version Peruvian Steak (P350) while their massive chunk of meat – Porter House Steak (P395) is tender, juicy and seasoned liberally. Like any of their steaks, you get to choose if you want rice or mashed potato.

Aside from steaks, Roberto’s also serve variety of chicken, pork, and seafood. Roberto’s Grilled Pork Loin (P260) will surely fulfill your craving for that juicy and heavenly taste. Their Grilled Chicken Fillet (P340) is very tender and perfectly seasoned. If you want to skip meat without compromising your meal, try the Salmon Pacifica Brulee (P395) and Pico de Gallo topped with Grilled Salmon (P395).
