Alibaba levels up Lazada sellers’ expertise via LazStar Acad

About 250 hand-picked Lazada sellers received exclusive trainings from Alibaba Group’s Taobao University on Tuesday, October 2. This new initiative – LazStar Academy, a collaboration between Lazada, Alibaba Business School and Taobao University – was initiated at the Lazada Seller Conference on September 28 at SMX Mall of Asia, marking the kick-off of Lazada’s annual 11.11 and 12.12 mega sale events.
Available in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, LazStar Academy brings local knowhow and insider advice from some of the most successful and experienced Lazada sellers so that business owners can sidestep pitfalls as they accelerate the growth of their online business.

 “Taobao University will bring our experience of enabling sellers to rapidly master the skills and grow on Lazada. In the past 12 years since it was established, Taobao University has helped almost 10 million sellers from more than 130 countries and regions learn practical skills that enabled their businesses to breakthrough,” said Selina Xu, Head of International Training of Taobao University.
LazStar Academy trainings are jointly developed by certified seller trainers, Taobao University and Lazada. The modules will provide valuable insights from local entrepreneurs on Lazada and best practices from Alibaba. LazStar trainings conducted by the experts will help participants gain and retain customers, while strategically maximizing revenues amid the fast expanding e-Commerce landscape.
