Bounce it off

Words by: Khent Gerald Barangas

Do you know that trampoline exercise burns calories more effectively than jogging? According to NASA study, trampoline exercise produced greater results with less demand on the heart. But for Mark Hogsden, co-owner of the Trampoline Park, it’s all about the joy.
When Mark was asked about the word that would describe his place, it took him a few moment to come up with the term: “Joy,” he uttered happily as if he have solved a puzzle, “Everyone jumps and right away smile, so it’s really a place of joy, that’s the bottom line.”

Located at The Portal, Mandaluyong City, Trampoline Park is the first of its kind in the Philippines where you can work out or play around like a kid. Whether you wanted to get fit or maybe just to have fun, Trampoline Park can be enjoyed by everyone. “Filipinos love a fun activities especially with family and friends, so we (with his partner) decided to try and we’re more likely the first to open the first travel park in the Philippines,” Mark added.
THE ADRENALINE RUSH
Trampoline Park made physical workout even more exciting and perhaps the most unique. The entire park is comprised of 50 interconnected trampoline on the floor and walls. It has also foam pool, tumble tracks, and basketball lanes.

Get your heart rate rush with variety of activities at Trampoline Park. Jump into the famous (most instagrammable) Foam Pit: a hole filled with thousands of colorful base of foam cubes where people can fly high and dive. There’s also bubble ball.  Roll inside the Bubble ball and have a bubble sumo fight while bouncing. And as if volleyball and dodgebal isn’t fun enough, you can heighten the experience of the sport in Trampoline Park. If you are one of people who dreamed to have slamdunk, you can now experience it in Trampoline Park. They also offer Parkour and Zumba classes. How cool is that?

And how do you want to spend your Friday and Saturday night? At the gym? Or Bar? How about try the disco trampoline? You read it right. When the clock turns 8, the lights go down but the music goes up and playing louder. A resident DJ is setting the mood in Trampoline Park so you will have a good time.
“Although it’s a trampoline park, it has a lot of different activities, a lot of sports, and a lot of fun that we’re associated with,” Mark said proudly.
Trampoline Park can be a venue of group events like birthday parties and team buildings. The place can accommodate up to 100 guests where guests can choose credited restaurant for meal or they can bring their food for a price.

Staying Safe
“Like in any sports there are accidents and there are some accidents in the park,” Mark reminded “but we managed to minimize it, as much as possible by using all three elements”

Trampoline Park indeed is a joyful place and to keep it that way, safety is their first priority. The guest must sign a waiver before they can enter the place. Next, the guests will be asked to watch a safety video about the things that they are allowed and not allowed to do.  The guests are required to use a Grip Socks from Trampoline Park which costs Php 80.00. This three steps keep the place safe and exciting for everyone.
