EXILE TRIBE groups LIL LEAGUE and KID PHENOMENON made their debut at MUSIC MATTERS LIVE 2026, one of Asia’s leading international music showcases, held at CQ @ Clarke Quay in Singapore on 3 October.
Now in its 21st edition, the event brought together more than 44 artists from 15 countries, including Lola Amour from the Philippines, DOLLA from Malaysia, Bratty from Mexico and Borderline from New Zealand. Representing Japan, LIL LEAGUE and KID PHENOMENON took the stage on Day 2, with KID PHENOMENON closing the main stage as the day’s headliner.
Though both groups represent a new generation of EXILE TRIBE, they introduced distinct identities to Singapore: LIL LEAGUE through “LIL LEAGUE PARK,” and KID PHENOMENON through “TOKYO NEO POP.”
LIL LEAGUE: Connecting Through “Emotion”
Six-member dance and vocal group LIL LEAGUE transforms the emotions of youth – from friendship and first love to challenges, uncertainty, farewells and reunions – into an immersive entertainment concept called “LIL LEAGUE PARK.”
At MUSIC MATTERS LIVE, the group combined vocals, rap, dance and the chemistry of its six members to create a performance that connected with audiences seeing them for the first time.
LIL LEAGUE leader SENA said:
“The energy from the audience in Singapore was incredibly inspiring, and it heightened my excitement for the performance so much that I naturally found myself projecting my voice in ways I hadn’t even during rehearsals. Going forward, we want to expand the unique world of ‘LIL LEAGUE PARK’ that we shared this time into ‘LIL WONDER PARK’ and bring it to even more people.”
The performance showcased LIL LEAGUE’s ability to turn the emotions of youth into a shared live experience that transcends language and borders.
KID PHENOMENON: Bringing “TOKYO NEO POP” to the World
KID PHENOMENON brought their signature concept of “TOKYO NEO POP” to the MUSIC MATTERS LIVE main stage, following overseas activities including their appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas, in March.
Drawing from Tokyo’s diverse influences across music, fashion, anime and gaming, the seven-member group transforms these inspirations through their own music, dance, visuals and personalities.
KID PHENOMENON leader KENSUKE said:
“I was really happy to enjoy the music together while feeling the energy from everyone in Singapore. ‘TOKYO NEO POP’ is a new culture that takes shape through the unique expression of the seven of us, encompassing not only music and dance, but also fashion and visuals. Someday, we hope to become a group that represents this culture and spread it from Tokyo to Asia and then to the world.”
As the headliner for Day 2, KID PHENOMENON’s Singapore performance marked another step in their journey to bring “TOKYO NEO POP” from Tokyo to Asia and ultimately the world.
From Screen to Stage: Fans Discover LIL LEAGUE & KID PHENOMENON
Fan reactions at MUSIC MATTERS LIVE highlighted how both groups are connecting with audiences beyond Japan, with many fans emphasizing the energy and chemistry they experienced seeing them live.
A female fan from South Korea who travelled to Singapore to see LIL LEAGUE said she was drawn to the group through her interest in Japanese music, particularly their energetic performances and the distinct personalities of all six members.
“What especially stood out to me was how much the members themselves seemed to be enjoying the stage. Seeing them having fun naturally made us have fun too.”
For KID PHENOMENON, a fan from Singapore discovered KID PHENOMENON through TikTok before becoming a fan through their music and social media content. After seeing them live, she said, “Seeing them live had a different appeal from watching them through a screen, there was something you could only experience by being there.”
From discovering artists online to experiencing their performances live, the Singapore showcase demonstrated how LIL LEAGUE and KID PHENOMENON are building connections with audiences across borders.
