What happens when “Noted on this, Ma’am!” meets “Okii!”? When one generation says, “Ganito kasi kami noon,” while another says, “Iba na ang generation ngayon!”
Veteran broadcast journalist Susan Enriquez and TV host and weatherman Anjo Pertierra are bringing these everyday generational conversations to the podcast space with the launch of Mind The Gap Podcast, a new online show that explores the differences, similarities, and sometimes hilarious misunderstandings between generations.
The timing for this podcast could not be more relevant since four generations are now represented in most workplaces, from the Baby Boomers to Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z, creating an increasingly multigenerational environment where different experiences, expectations, communication styles, and attitudes meet every day.
In the Philippines, generational diversity is particularly visible in the workplace. A recent study from Acumen Strategy Consultants found that 75% of today’s Filipino workplace is made up of Gen Z and Gen Y. At the same time, Gen X and Baby Boomers are a minority, but they still hold most senior leadership roles. That means these generations can potentially bring different ways of communicating, working, showing respect, handling conflict, and even telling a joke into the same room.
PLEASE MIND THE GAP
Mind The Gap Podcast premiered on September 20, 2026, opening with “Work Po Tayo, Opo!” an episode that takes a candid look at workplace differences between the “Old School” and the “New Gen”. From work ethics and office hierarchy to communication styles, workplace expectations, forced socialization, and work-life balance, the episode asks a familiar question: Are we really seeing generational differences or are we simply experiencing work through different lenses?
THE GAP IS WHERE THE CONVERSATION STARTS
At its heart, Mind The Gap Podcast is not about deciding which generation is right. It is about understanding why people see things differently. The “gap” exists everywhere: in the workplace, at home, in relationships, and even in the way Filipinos communicate, show affection, handle disagreements, and make each other laugh. Through this podcast, Susan Enriquez and Anjo Pertierra invite listeners to look at these differences with curiosity rather than judgement. Because sometimes, bridging the generation gap does not mean making everyone think the same way, but simply taking the time to ask “why?” and from there, the conversation begins.
