TELUS Digital Philippines wins Philippine Quill Award for financial wellness communication campaign

TELUS Digital Philippines has won a Philippine Quill Award for its “Petsa de Power” internal communications campaign that made financial wellness support easier for its 26,000+ team members in Metro Manila and Iloilo to access and act on.

The 22nd Philippine Quill Awards recognized the Petsa de Power campaign for moving beyond a single program announcement to a sustained conversation shaped directly by team member input. TELUS Digital Philippines built the initiative around real survey responses and financial concerns raised by employees, then delivered it through a mix of storytelling, onsite materials and digital channels to keep the topic visible and relevant throughout the year. This sustained approach ran alongside changes to its financial programs for employees. The company strengthened its Savings Arrangement for Financial Empowerment (SAFE) and HMO coverage, and introduced Early Wage Access (EWA), giving team members a way to access earned wages before payday. It also expanded financial education through Pera Paraan, a financial literacy initiative built by team member survey insights and everyday financial concerns.

Throughout 2025, the campaign reached team members through email, webinars, onsite materials, roadshows, e-learning modules, testimonial videos and internal digital platforms.

“Financial concerns can be deeply personal, and every team member’s situation is different,” said Rajiv M.Dhand, Senior Vice President of Global Customer Experience and Trust & Safety Operations at TELUS Digital. “Petsa de Power is designed to help our people feel financial support is within reach, while creating more open and practical conversations around financial wellness. We are honored to receive this recognition from the Philippine Quill Awards as it affirms the value of communicating employee programs in a way that is relevant to the realities team members are facing.”

The campaign’s reach also translated into program adoption. Financial wellness program participation grew with more than 11,800 Early Wage Access app downloads,  almost 6,800 new SAFE enrollments and 4,600 additional dependents enrolled in the enhanced HMO coverage.  Team member experiences reflected the practical value of having financial tools and information readily available throughout the year.

“The peace of mind that SAFE provides is priceless. I really appreciate the employer matching features of the program, and they made sure we fully understand how this combined savings, investment and retirement program works,” said Pia, TELUS Digital Philippines team member.

For Cherry Jane, a TELUS Digital Philippines team member and working student, Early Wage Access provided support for both everyday and education-related expenses. “Being a working student, EWA has helped me manage my finances, from buying groceries to paying for my tuition and other school expenses. Learning about financial tools like this throughout the year has helped me better understand the support available to me,” she said.

The initiative formed part of TELUS Digital Philippines’ broader employee engagement and retention efforts. During the same period, the company recorded a 15% year-on-year decrease in attrition.

The Philippine Quill recognition points to how employee communications can create sustained engagement around issues that matter to people, not just deliver information. Financial wellness is an important area of support for Filipino employees. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ 2025 Consumer Finance and Inclusion Survey found that while 74% of respondents could correctly answer at least half of six financial literacy questions, only 43% said they were satisfied with their current financial situation – suggesting that financial knowledge and financial confidence do not always go hand in hand. Against this backdrop, the Petsa de Power campaign shows how employee communications can help close that gap by making financial wellness programs and education more relevant, accessible and actionable for team members.
