Salesforce recently announced Slack Code and dedicated code channels, a new surface environment designed to turn AI software development into a collaborative, multiplayer activity.
Available across all Slack plans, Slack Code allows cross-functional teams to work directly with leading AI coding agents—including Anthropic’s Claude Code, Cognition’s Devin, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Vercel agents—in a shared, central space rather than isolated browser tabs.
Inside a code channel, the work is organized into dedicated tabs — one for the conversation, one for the agent’s plan, one showing line-by-line code diffs, and one with a live preview of the running output — so the team can watch the agent build in real time, not just read about it after the fact.
By bringing code generation, inline diff reviews, and live previews directly into Slack, teams can take software projects from initial concept to production without juggling separate developer tools.
