How One of the Best Workplaces in PH Enjoys the High Trust of its Employees

High levels of trust, pride, and camaraderie among employees are what define a great workplace culture, according to Great Place to Work®, the research firm that ranks organizations globally based on employee experience. Companies that prioritize employee well-being, fairness, and leadership transparency see up to four times higher revenue growth and 50% lower turnover rates.

In the Philippines, 89% of employees at designated ‘best workplaces’ say people are willing to go the extra mile to get the job done, compared to just 76% at typical companies.

A prime example is Capital One Philippines which has consistently been recognized as among the top employers in the country, and recently secured the 2nd spot on the 2026 Philippines’ Best Workplaces in the IT-BPM industry list. By establishing a track record of delivering exceptional customer and associate experiences, the company has cracked the code on employee trust.

Leading with Purpose and Trust

Gaining that trust starts from the top down. Lara Beato, a risk management professional at Capital One Philippines for over a decade, shared that building a great culture relies on effective leadership and continuous, multi-directional learning. She believes strong leaders create environments where people are encouraged to innovate, improve, and take initiative while remaining grounded in a shared purpose.

“Because I am clear on my purpose as an associate and a leader, I can do difficult things and help my teams do the same. More importantly, leadership teaches me to nurture relationships so that each person grows,” Beato said.

Embracing Work-Life Integration for Parents

Beyond leadership, the company’s culture uniquely empowers employees to thrive in their personal lives. Lianne Toh, a manager under Workplace Experience, talks about the value of

navigating challenges with resilience, adaptability, and empathy while remaining committed to excellence both at work and at home.

“I’ve learned how important it is to listen, communicate clearly, and support people while still driving results,” Toh said. “Just like parenting, high-performing environments thrive when people feel supported, safe, trusted, and empowered.”

For Toh, a culture that supports collaboration and well-being makes a significant difference in balancing her responsibilities. “The company encourages growth while recognizing the importance of work-life integration, allowing me to pursue my career goals while being present for my children,” she added. “Being a mother requires patience, adaptability, and the ability to stay calm under pressure—qualities that naturally translate into the workplace.”

This flexibility is equally vital for Anna Christine Perez, a member of the Learning and Development Team, who credits the workplace culture in allowing her to be fully present for her family while thriving in her career.

“Having the means to attend to their needs has been incredibly meaningful as a solo parent,” Perez shared. “I am grateful for Capital One Philippines’ supportive culture. I also appreciate our Business Resource Groups (BRGs), these are associate-led organizations that bring associates together through shared experiences,  cultural celebrations, and community engagement. BRGs gave me the space to pursue meaningful connections with colleagues, and feel supported both personally and professionally.”

These distinct experiences highlight a common thread: a workplace thrives when its people do. By intentionally weaving trust, flexibility, and community support into the daily associate experience, Capital One Philippines  proves that personal well-being can go hand in hand with professional success.
