Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first look at The Love Hypothesis, the highly anticipated adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s New York Times best‑selling novel. Starring Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman, the romantic comedy will premiere globally on Prime Video on September 23. The film promises to deliver a heartfelt blend of humor, intellect, and romance, capturing the charm that made the novel a worldwide sensation.
The story follows Olive (Reinhart), a brilliant Ph.D. candidate determined to succeed in academia. When her best friend Ahn (Rachel Marsh) develops feelings for Olive’s longtime crush Jeremy (Nicholas Duvernay), Olive impulsively kisses her intimidating professor Adam Carlsen (Bateman) to prove she has moved on. What begins as a spur‑of‑the‑moment act quickly evolves into a fake relationship with carefully drawn boundaries, only to blur into something far more real and complicated.
Directed by Claire Scanlon and written by Sarah Rothschild, the film is produced by Elizabeth Cantillon under MRC’s Cantillon Company banner. Alongside Reinhart and Bateman, the cast features Rachel Marsh, Nicholas Duvernay, Jaboukie Young‑White, and Arty Froushan. With its witty script and dynamic ensemble, The Love Hypothesis explores the delicate balance between ambition, vulnerability, and the unpredictable nature of love.

Prime Video continues to expand its slate of premium programming, offering audiences a diverse mix of global blockbusters, acclaimed series, and exclusive local titles. From fan favorites like The Boys and The Summer I Turned Pretty to Filipino originals such as Love is Never Gone and Comedy Island Philippines, Prime Video remains a first‑stop destination for entertainment across thousands of devices. The Love Hypothesis adds to this growing lineup, inviting viewers to test the theory that love is worth the risk.
