Senator Bam Aquino is pushing for stronger government support for the country’s creative industry, emphasizing its huge potential to generate fresh jobs and drive economic growth.
Aquino said the Philippines’ creative sector remains one of the country’s greatest strengths and deserves sustained investment, funding, and long-term planning from the government.
“Iyong ating creative industry, isa ‘yan sa mga strength natin na kailangan talagang bigyan ng tamang suporta, tamang pondo, at tamang plano,” Aquino said.
“Maganda nga na gawing haligi ito ng ating ekonomiya at bigyan ng tamang suporta,” he added.
According to Aquino, investing in Filipino creatives, artists, content creators, filmmakers, musicians, writers, and designers will not only create more livelihood and employment opportunities but also showcase Filipino talent on the global stage.
Aquino has long been a staunch supporter of Filipino talent. During the 2022 and 2025 election campaigns, he tapped local artists to celebrate their talents and skills, and once again highlighted the strength of Filipino music during the People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert.
The Senator recently filed Senate Resolution No. 370 honoring Filipino P-Pop sensation BINI for making history as the first Filipino group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.
The “Nation’s Girl Group” received a parchment copy of Aquino’s Senate Resolution No. 370 after it was officially adopted by the Senate on Wednesday.
BINI is composed of Maraiah Queen Arceta (Aiah), Ma. Nicolette Vergara (Colet), Mary Loi Yves Ricalde (Maloi), Gweneth Apuli (Gwen), Lindtsey Stacey Aubrey Sevilleja (Stacey), Mikhaela Janna Lim (Mikha), Jhoanna Christine Robles (Jhoanna), and Sheena Mae Catacutan (Sheena).
In his resolution, Aquino lauded BINI for bringing pride and honor to the country and for showcasing Filipino talent and artistry on the global stage during their April 10 and 17, 2026 performances at Coachella, one of the world’s most prestigious and highest-grossing music festivals.
Aquino emphasized that BINI’s accomplishment on the international stage will serve as an inspiration for many Filipino youth to strive for their dreams.
In an interview, BINI expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying it should come with increased support for Filipino artists and creatives who can put the country on the international stage.
“I believe na dapat ma-share ito to all of the artists, hindi lang mga OPM artists kung ‘di pati lahat ng mga creatives out there na walang means, walang outlet, walang platform for it,” BINI Maloi said.
“Naniniwala po kaming lahat na malaki ang potential ng mga Pilipino artists.ng dami pang kayang ipakita, ibigay out there globally,” BINI Gwen added.
“Now is the time na tayong mga Pinoy talents, mga Pinoy creativity, Pinoy culture ay makilala din internationally. Kasi kung kaya ng ibang lahi, kayang-kaya rin nating makipagsabayan kaya now is the time! Mag-go tayo sa global stage,” BINI Stacey said.
