QCD1 Rep. Arjo Atayde Highlights “Aksyon Agad” Milestones, Future Plans in his first SODA

Quezon City 1st District Representative Juan Carlos “Arjo” Atayde recently delivered his State of the District Address (SODA) at the SM North Skydome, highlighting his “Aksyon Agad” significant accomplishments and future initiatives aimed at improving the lives of his constituents.

QCD1 Representative Atayde’s SODA underscored his unwavering commitment to public service and his proactive approach to addressing the diverse needs of Quezon City’s 1st District through “Akyon Agad.”

“Akyon Agad” is not just a slogan – it is a promise that Representative Atayde fulfills every day of his term. As the Representative of the First District of Quezon City, he ensures that every grievance of the people has a quick, effective, and concrete solution. With the help of the Aksyon Agad Team, his responsibility to the people does not end with promises but with prompt and proper action to address the district’s needs.

The Aksyon Agad Team is the community response unit of Cong. Arjo, focused on providing immediate assistance. At every step, this team is his partner in delivering concrete solutions and positive changes in the lives of his constituents. He has proven his promise — it is action. “Aksyon Agad” is not just a slogan but a guiding principle of his administration: efficient, fast, and heartfelt service.

In his speech, Representative Atayde stressed his dedication to improving healthcare services. The opening of the first free dialysis facility in Barangay Bahay Toro, which has 20 dialysis machines and can serve up to 60 patients every day, is a noteworthy accomplishment. Underprivileged residents suffering from kidney illness might receive life-saving care at this hospital. In Barangay Santa Teresita, he also unveiled the AI Smart Scan X-ray machine, a cutting-edge diagnostic instrument that can identify a variety of chest conditions, such as cancer, TB, and pneumonia.

Atayde has also prioritized access to technology and education. In order to improve learning possibilities for young children, he gave laptop devices to childcare centers located in every barangay in the district.

Atayde’s dedication to community welfare is evident in his response to natural disasters. Following the impact of Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon, he personally led the distribution of relief goods to affected residents in Barangays Damayan, Del Monte, and Paraiso, ensuring timely assistance to those in need.

To support local governance and improve public service delivery, Atayde donated service vehicles to multiple barangays within the district. These vehicles enhance the mobility and efficiency of barangay officials in serving their communities.

In collaboration with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Atayde formally opened the QCD1 District Office on West Avenue. This multifunctional space serves as a central hub for events such as medical missions and meetings with various sectors, facilitating better coordination and service delivery within the district.

A distinguished Filipino actor and politician, Arjo is the eldest son of actress Sylvia Sanchez and businessman Art Atayde. His entertainment career began at the age of nine with his appearance on the youth-oriented comedy show “Ang TV.” Throughout his acting career, he has received multiple accolades, including Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 3rd Asian Academy Creative Awards in 2020 for his performance in the web series “Bagman.” In 2023, he was nominated for Best Lead Actor at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards for his role in “Cattleya Killer,” further highlighting his versatility and depth as an actor.

Transitioning to politics, he ran as an independent candidate for the representative position of Quezon City’s 1st congressional district in 2022, with support from the Joy Belmonte-led Serbisyo sa Bayan Party. He won the election with 66.85% of the vote, and was sworn into office on June 30, 2022.

In his personal life, Arjo began dating actress Maine Mendoza in 2018. The couple married on July 28, 2023, in a ceremony held in Baguio.

Arjo’s journey from a child actor to a respected figure in both the entertainment industry and public service exemplifies his dedication and multifaceted talents, making significant contributions to Filipino culture and society.
