BillEase Redefines BNPL for Filipinos, Reveals Kim Chiu as first Brand Ambassador

Flexible Payments, Responsible Financial Growth

BillEase, the Philippines’ leading buy now, pay later (BNPL) and consumer finance app, recently held its 2024 Media Conference at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City, first of many conferences to discuss groundbreaking financial solutions and welcoming a new brand ambassador.

Launched in 2017, BillEase is primarily used in the Philippines and offers flexible payment terms to suit different financial needs. With a mission to use software and Al to build financial products that are at least 10 times better than the status quo for consumers, BillEase offers personal loans, e-wallet top-ups, prepaid loads, gaming credits, and bill payments.

Here are some key features and benefits of BillEase:

  1. Flexible Payment Plans: Customers can choose from various payment plans, typically ranging from three months to twelve months.
  2. Interest Rates: Depending on the selected payment plan and the customer’s credit profile, BillEase may offer interest-free options or charge interest rates.
  3. User-Friendly App: BillEase has a mobile app that allows users to manage their accounts, track spending, and make payments.
  4. Wide Range of Merchants: The service is accepted by a variety of merchants, making it convenient for customers to use for different types of purchases.
  5. Credit Evaluation: BillEase performs a credit evaluation to determine a customer’s eligibility and credit limit, ensuring responsible lending practices.
  6. Convenience: The service aims to make purchases more accessible by spreading the cost over a period, reducing the immediate financial burden on consumers.

Garret Go, Chief Finance Officer of BillEase, introduced the company’s core offering: a convenient credit line that functions like an e-wallet without needing an initial deposit.

“Once customers sign up, they receive a credit limit, allowing them to make purchases at more than 10,000 partner merchants online and in offline stores,” Go explained. He emphasized BillEase’s commitment to affordability, transparency, and efficiency, highlighting services such as mobile top-ups, bill payments, and cash loans—many available without interest or fees.

Go underscored the platform’s 99% automation rate, ensuring rapid access to funds when customers need it most. “We launched BillEase with a clear vision: to broaden financial options that cater to our customers’ needs. By leveraging machine learning and Al, we operate more efficiently and offer affordable financial solutions without hassle,” he added.

Kurt Molina, Head of Merchant Products

Kurt Molina, Head of Merchant Products, discussed the advantages of using BillEase when shopping with QRPH, which is available at 600,000 merchants nationwide. Molina also discussed an exciting new product called Limit Boost, further expanding BillEase’s innovative lineup. With Limit Boost, BillEase users can temporarily increase their purchase of up to P150,000.00 limits for transactions at over 10,000 merchant partners.

The conference reached its pinnacle as Jose Fernandez, Chief Marketing Officer, unveiled BillEase’s new brand ambassador: Kim Chiu. “This partnership highlights BillEase’s mission to make online shopping and bill payments more accessible through flexible payment options,” Fernandez stated. “We envision building financial services that highlight responsible shopping and enable consumers.”

The event concluded with the official signing of Kim Chiu’s contract, warmly welcoming her into the BillEase family. As the new face of BillEase, Chiu is set to amplify the company’s message of financial empowerment and accessibility.
