In a remarkable display of athleticism and community engagement, RLC Residences, the residential arm of Robinsons Land, took part in the recently concluded IRONMAN 70.3 race held in the breathtaking city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The event not only showcased the brand’s commitment to an active lifestyle but also underscored their dedication to supporting and taking part in activities that bring people together through the participation of its very own RLC Residences Triathlon Team in individual and team relay categories.

“This has been our second year joining IRONMAN both as a partner and a participant. What we love about being part of this renowned sporting event is its very supportive community that encourages a lot of individuals from different age groups to always be best versions of themselves. It’s the same ethos that we have when we design our projects – we incorporate amenities and features that can help our homeowners live their best and offer a community that supports our residents’ well-being” says Karen Cesario, RLC Residences Marketing Head and Chief Integration Officer.

As sponsor of IRONMAN, RLC Residences and its mascot Bob the Bear welcomed hundreds of participants and their loved ones to their booth with exciting gifts and activities. Bob is also present during the IRONKIDS race, where he cheered on the young athletes and congratulated them after the race.

Apart from this, RLC Residences is also a proud participant represented by its own triathlon team – their second time since the Cebu race last year. Led by RLC Residences Brand Management Head Dan Carlo Torres, who also serves as the RLC Residences Triathlon Team Sports Director, the whole team joined in various categories and have recorded improved results. Torres, who competed in the 35 – 39 year old individual category, took the 14th spot as he finished the race in 5 hours and 43 minutes, coming from 44th place last year. On the other hand, the relay team jumped in 5th place from 151st in 2022 as they were able to finish in 5 hours and 51 minutes.

“I am very happy with the results of this race and very proud of the whole team’s performance. All our efforts have paid off and we are honored to represent RLC Residences in one of the toughest triathlon races and show other aspiring athletes that we can all raise the game and live an active lifestyle,” says Torres.

Beyond the personal achievements of the athletes, RLC Residences’ participation in the IRONMAN 70.3 race reflects its support for the local sports scene. The event not only attracted seasoned triathletes but also served as a platform for budding athletes and enthusiasts to showcase their skills. RLC Residences’ involvement contributes to the growth and recognition of such sporting events in Puerto Princesa, fostering a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.

“The IRONMAN 70.3 race is not just a physical challenge; it’s an opportunity for community building. And we at RLC Residences recognize the power of sports in bringing people together, transcending boundaries, and fostering a sense of unity. By actively participating in such events, we wish to help strengthen the ties with the community and demonstrate a commitment to shared values.” Cesario adds.
