It is that time of the year again and SM City Marikina ushered in the much-awaited celebration with the annual lighting of the giant Christmas display at the mall atrium.
Aptly called Joyful Christmas, the event highlighted a ceremonial lighting of the mall’s Christmas centerpiece, signaling the start of Holiday happiness and spectacle. SM City Marikina illuminated the entire mall, highlighting an amazing Christmas centerpiece that features the city’s tallest Christmas tree, decked out with poinsettias as well as red, white and gold balls. Beside the giant Christmas tree are two truly IG-worthy installations where in mallgoers can take their photos.
In his Yuletide message, SM City Marikina Mall Manager Francis Brian Cruz said: “Aside from lighting up our magnificent tree and activating our Happiness stations with our cause-oriented charities, we will be launching a series of memorable Christmas activations throughout the Season — from augmented reality to choir and flash mobs, to Christmas markets and fest and parties for family and friends.”
During the event, SM City Marikina relaunched the Bears of Joy, an annual charity program of SM Cares wherein shoppers can also participate by buying a pair of Christmas Teddy Bears for P250 from the Bears of Joy booth.
This year features a family of bears to collect. SM City Marikina will give the accumulated donated bears to the orphans of Marikina Day Care Center.
