This year may have been imperfect, yet SM City Marikina kicked off the holiday season with dazzling lights and magical feels. Because even this time of crisis, #SamaSamaTayoSaPaskoAtSM!
Unlike the previous years with spectacular program, this year’s lighting ceremony went back to the basics, a traditional theme yet every can embrace. SM City Marikina brings shoppers the warmth of Christmas Season — simple yet undeniably more meaningful.
“Even as it is a challenging year, we will continuously bring joy,” said SM City Marikina Mall Manager Francis Brian Cruz during the launch.
He also officially unwrapped exciting treats for shoppers: AR selfie with Santa, shop to your heart’s desire at the Christmas markets, Holiday choir performances, and so much more are in store for everyone this season of giving.
Under the Christmas tree is designed and lightened to be an Instagram and Tiktok worthy, where shoppers can enjoy taking photos and videos.
Across the Christmas centerpiece is the ‘Bears of Joy’ booth. This year’s bears are inspired by the frontline workers – Kit the doctor who positions for hope, Heart the nurse means love, Ace the soldier stands for unity, and the police officer Max, who resembles strength.
Throughout the Christmas season, you can buy a pair of bears for P200.00 – one bear for you to keep and the other for charity.
Moreover, SM City Marikina also support the Department of Trade and Industry’s campaign, ‘Buy Local, Go Lokal’ through its own ‘Kasama Ng SM’ campaign to support MSMEs. “If we continue to help and uplift each other, we can bounce forward, stronger together,” Mall Manager Francis Brian Cruz said.
After the ceremonial lighting of the 3-storey tall Christmas tree, the quick program was concluded by the performance of Psalm of David Orchestra, who serenaded the crowd and filled the air with familiar Christmas carols.
