In line with this years theme “Rise Towards the Challenge of a New Beginning,” SM City Marikina today commemorated the 124th Philippine Independence Day with cloth weaving installation inspired by traditional local weavers portraying the Philippine Flag colors.
Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro and Congresswoman-elect Maan Teodoro joined SM City Marikina’s Asst Mall Manager Maluresa Reyes, Marketing Manager Rodel Enriquez and SM AVP for Marketing Jay Arañas during the flag raising.
Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection Marikina PNP Marikina, and Knights of Rizal joined SM Security Force, SM Janitorial and Mall admin officers in the event.
Simeona F. Chanyungco Lahing Kayumanggi Mananayaw ng Marikina capped off the celebration with their cultural performance.
Shoppers can also take photos inside the mood room with play of colors of the PH flag located at the Mall Atrium.
The Independence display will run until the end of June. So #CelebrateIndependenceDayAtSM as one aweSM nation!
