Malayan Science, Mapúa launch their first national coding competition

Young coding enthusiasts from around the country have a chance to test their skills and creativity in solving the country’s pressing health and wellness issues in the Algorithm of Welfare National Coding Competition.

Organized by Malayan High School of Science, in collaboration with its mother school Mapúa University, the coding competition is open to all elementary and junior high school students nationwide. 

The Algorithm of Welfare will run from January 10 to March 4, 2022. Interested participants have two categories to choose from: the Bit Category is open to students from Grades 5 and 6, and the Byte Category accepts participants from Grades 7 to 9

Schools that wish to join the coding challenge can send a maximum of two teams per category with each team consisting of one to three students from the same school and one coach. Teams will develop Android applicationsthat adhere to the theme “Coding the Smart Path to Wellness and Health.”

The top three winners for each category will receive certificates, cash prizes, and souvenirs.
