YGG Managers Cup: Playing for a Cause

An exciting night awaits Axie Infinity players and enthusiasts this Halloween as Filipino-led gaming guild Yield Guild Games (YGG) launches the YGG Managers Cup (YMC), a series of exhibition matches for a cause, on the 31st of October.

“We’re thrilled to announce the very first season of YMC that will bring together guilds from all over the world to both have fun and offer a helping hand to those in need,” said YGG Country Manager Luis Buenaventura.

Co-sponsored by YGG and Binance Charity, with support from Axie Infinity and Axie Alerts PH, YMC showcases different guilds represented by a team of their four most exceptional players. The tournament aims to provide excitement and showcase sportsmanship among its participants, entertainment for curious viewers, and an opportunity for the entire YGG community to support disadvantaged youth affected by the pandemic and natural calamities.

The six-month long YMC season one will kickstart with an exhibition match between YGG and Axie Alert, two of the biggest gaming guilds in the country. The winning team will move on to the next event where they will face a new challenger.

All proceeds from YMC will be donated to charities promoting youth development and welfare. For their first identified charity, YGG will be donating all proceeds to GentleHands Orphanage to provide financial support for the 140 orphans and 45 staff members who all tested positive for COVID-19. Interested sponsors may also contribute other prizes to outstanding teams or players.

To date, YMC has already raised over a million pesos in donations, provided by Binance Charity, YGG, and SkyMavis. YGG will also create a RONIN wallet as a supplementary measure to encourage donations in the form of Smooth Love Potion (SLP) from the community.

“Despite all unfortunate circumstances that Filipinos braved this year, the whole YGG community feels like we can do anything because everyone is willing to pitch in for the youth and their kababayans,” Buenaventura added.

Content creators and gaming enthusiasts should also stay tuned to YGG’s announcement on the clean stream they can use to help spread the word. Selected content creators will be awarded with premium YGG merch packages in addition to social media promotion a week after every stream.

Witness the YMC matches multi-streamed through YGG’s Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.
