Now on its tenth year, FlipTop Battle League celebrates its groundbreaking legacy in hip-hop with a two-day urban festival, happening on February 7 and 8 at the Aseana City Concert Grounds, Parafiaque City.
With over 200 artists in the lineup happening in 3 stages, “The FlipTop Festival” puts a spotlight on various elements of hip-hop not limited to performances and battle rap. The debut programming is set to showcase other important facets of the culture, including turntablism and DJ-ing, b-boying or break dancing, graffiti, and scratch competition.
A month ahead of the festival, FlipTop has announced the first batch of confirmed rappers and hip-hop acts to perform on the two-day festivity, which includes performances by US-based artists Bambu and Rocky Rivera, and highly anticipated spots by GIoc-9, Shanti Dope, Abra, Shehyee, PriceTagg, Ron Henley, Al James, lllustrado, Shernan, Sinio, Tipsy D, Smugglaz, Zaito, Dello, Kemikal Ali, Arbie Won, and Supreme Fist.
A few weeks later, the most-viewed battle rap league shared its second wave lineup, which includes 90’s legendary hip-hop crew Mastaplann, as well as veteran rappers such as D-Coy, Mike Kosa, Klutch-B, Apokalipsis, and Mike Swift, and the current crop of hard-hitters including Smugglaz, Apoc, Apekz, Sak Maestro (Davao), Abaddon, BLKD and Calix.
It was also announced on the very same day that the two-day festival will feature highly anticipated battle rap pairings known as Dos Por Dos led by Sinio/Tipsy D vs. Jonas/Lhipkram and the much-buzzed face off: Shernan vs Poison13.
Today, FlipTop takes pride of revealing other performers in the event such as Skarm and Curtismith, Blaze N Kane, wauck, Kial, BNK, Abaddon, Jon Protege, and DJ Roza.
More acts will be announced in the last few weeks leading to the festival proper.
