Lenovo is gearing up for another big year following its stellar performance during fiscal year 2018-19, driven by significant growth largely coming from sales in its consumer division.
The global technology and innovation leader’s recently concluded fiscal year reveals that the company’s revenue reached an all-time high of $51 billion, up 12.5% YOY, with company net income reaching $597 million. A strong fourth quarter performance also led to double-digit growth with revenue coming from its PC and Smart devices amounting to $38.5 billion, making Lenovo the #1 PC company in the world with a record market share of 23.4% for the fiscal year while also becoming the fastest-growing among the top five players (+9.5% YOY).
“Lenovo’s solid performance reflects the continuous efforts on our strategies to put the customer at the core of our business. In today’s world, we focus on enabling them to thrive through the process of ‘intelligent transformation’ by continuing to provide innovative technology whose features can perform in a wide variety of tasks, whether for gaming, entertainment, work, and everything in between,” said Lenovo Philippines Country General Manager Michael Ngan.
The rise of Lenovo Legion
A critical factor in Lenovo’s growth surge is its Legion gaming lineup which started 2019 in the Philippines with a bang. Boosted with the release of new devices, opening of the first exclusive Legion Concept Store in SM City North EDSA, co-presenting of GameCon 2019, and the formation of the Legion PH community, the Legion lineup is now the fastest-growing gaming notebook brand in the country per monthly brand share statistics from GFK.
To sustain this, Legion is strengthening its lineup with new devices. Bannering the upcoming products is the gaming beast Legion Y740.
Legion is also releasing the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming laptop for those on the lookout for their first gaming PC.
Complementing these are Legion peripherals and accessories designed to offer the complete gaming experience and the mammoth-sized Legion Y44w gaming monitor (SRP: PHP 59,995) has a 43.4-inch curved (1800R) display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Pushing boundaries with the new IdeaPad and Yoga Ultrabooks
Alongside Legion’s role in Lenovo’s growth is the strong performance of its popular Yoga and IdeaPad lineups. The sales are mainly driven by the customer demand for thin and light devices. Known for their iconic watchband hinges and convertible features, the Yoga and IdeaPad lines are considered as among the most portable devices available. Last year, Lenovo refreshed its Yoga and IdeaPad lineups, turning all devices into Ultrabooks ─ powerful laptops that are on-trend and in demand as they are less than 20mm thick and weigh below 2kg.
Headlining the new Yoga devices is the Yoga S940.
The upcoming IdeaPads, on the other hand, will be led by the IdeaPad S540, available in six variants. The most premium will come with NVIDIA® GeForce GTX™ 1650 graphics card and an Intel® Core™ i7-8565U processor (PHP 69,995).
Meanwhile, multiple variants of the ultra-slim IdeaPad S340, the 2-in-1 convertible laptop IdeaPad C340, and the powerful everyday laptop IdeaPad S145 are also arriving, with higher variants coming with a Microsoft Office Perpetual bundle worth PHP 5,995.
Also available:
All devices come with Lenovo’s 2-Year Premium Care Support, including 24/7 support from Lenovo’s senior tech resources; Zero Tolerance to Dead Pixel, a service that repairs displays even with only a single dead pixel; and 2-year onsite warranty wherein Lenovo’s staff will go directly to the customer’s location for any troubleshooting needs.
