‘Charming Beijing’ Bridges Manila and Beijing through Tourism

A successful Beijing experience in Manila last September 21 at 3rd level, SM Aura Premier was seen as the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development once again brought “Charming Beijing: Beijing Tourism Promotion” to the Philippines.

It was a day wherein guests were able to catch a glimpse of the charm and beauty of China’s capital that is Beijing. With the theme, “The Silk Road Bridges East and West, New Beijing Resonates with People,” it reflects China’s endeavors to revitalize the Silk Road’s eminence into the modern times.

“Today, we hope to use this opportunity to promote Beijing tourism, deepen tourism cooperation between the two countries, let more Filipinos understand China, understand Beijing, and further expand Beijing’s reach and connection in the Philippines tourism market,” – Li Zunjing, Director of Legal Affairs Department, Tourism Department, Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development

The one-day free admission event had activities highlighting many of Beijing’s unique characteristics. People were able to visit the Great Wall of China via the Beijing Virtual Reality Experience. The artists within came out as guests immersed in the enjoyable “I Heart Beijing” Arts and Calligraphy Workshop.

Attendees also got to try the 360-degree Beijing Photo Booth where they dressed up as an emperor or empress while striking a pose. And lastly, the Beijing Photography Exhibit gave a chance for the attendees to see the different views of China’s charming capital. Guests also witnessed a Traditional Lion Dance by the Rui Dragon and Lion Dance Group and a wushu exhibition by the Philippine Cultural College Wushu Lion and Dragon Team.
“The Philippines and China are geographically close, and has a long history together. The long-standing friendship between the two countries has helped the two sides achieve good results in cooperation in the lields of economy, trade, culture and tourism,” expressed Li Zunjing. And as the Filipino-Chinese partnership progresses, the two countries look forward in building and strengthening the bond they have established.

“Filipino tourists will find Beijing as a distinctly memorable destination for their bucket list. 0n the other hand, Beijingers and other visitors from North China can happily explore the Philippines by going on island-hopping, beach holiday, scuba diving and other water sports, nature and adventure, culture and heritage, education, shopping, medical and wellness travel, and farm tourism, ” shared Glen Agustin, Director of Office of Product and Market Development of the Philippine Department of Tourism.
