DJI Mavic Air: your powerful and portable travel gear

by: Khent Gerald T. Barangas

DJI’s latest Mavic Air drone has been uncaged in Philippines shore since the start of the year through MSI-ECS. This new Mavic Air is both portable and at the same time powerful.
MSI-ECS invited Brand Magazine team for hands on experience of the newest Mavic Air at Costa Pacifica in Baler, Aurora. The Mavic Air is the most practical choice of drones that DJI has to date for travelers. It is powerful like its predecessor Mavic Pro, yet more portable than DJI Spark.
Both the remote and the drone are foldable.  This very handy drone is housing a 3-Axis Gimbal Camera to create steadier shots.
The Mavic Air is also powered by 4K video resolution with 12-megapixel image sensor. This small drone can amazingly take vertical, horizontal 180-degree panoramas and 4K UHD video recording.
The Mavic Air can fly for 21 minutes with 4KM transmission range. It comes with 8GB internal storage and has microSD card.

Like any DJI drone, Mavic Air sports bunch of smart shooting and flight features such as SmartCapture that lets its user to control it with your hand gesture. The ActiveTrack can detect and follows its subject. Quickshots mode, which is available in its predecessor, is also present in Mavic Air. Pick from its four presets:  Rocket, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Asteroid, and Boomerang. The TapFly feature is also present in the Mavic Air.

The Advance Pilot Assistance System is one the noteworthy safety features of the Mavic Air that allows the drone to bypass obstacles in front and behind it actively. Another is the Return to Home Mode. This feature, like its name suggests, is triggered when the Intelligent Flight Battery is nearly depleted and return to its designated places.
