Jardine Schindler Philippines has secured a major modernization project at RCBC Plaza, located in the heart of Makati City’s Central Business District. The scope covers a total of 51 elevators and 6 escalators, making it one of the company’s most significant modernization projects in the country. Work on the project began in March 2026.

This project involves a comprehensive modernization of the building’s vertical transportation system, including taking over maintenance of the building’s elevators and the installation of the Schindler PORT Destination Control System. Schindler PORT technology optimizes and enhances the way people move throughout a building, offering personalized service and access control to improve the overall building experience.
The system seamlessly integrates building access and navigation, allowing users to move through complexes to their destinations using a smartphone, badge, or IT interface. Schindler PORT enhances comfort by minimizing waiting times. Additionally, it improves energy efficiency through intelligent traffic management and provides building owners with tools for real-time performance tracking and adaptive maintenance.
As RCBC Plaza is a Grade A, high-occupancy corporate hub, the works must be carried out with minimal disruption to its operations. As part of the modernization, Jardine Schindler is also introducing a new escalator small split solution, specifically designed for existing, live buildings. This solution addresses site constraints, optimizes logistics, and minimizes operational disruption – demonstrating Schindler’s ability to deliver innovative solutions in complex environments.
