From silent risks to holistic care: InLife brings health discussion, global protection and culture together

The Medical City Clinics Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mariann Almajar presented current trends on cardiovascular health during the media launch of InLife’s newest health insurance plan, InLife Global Care. In the Philippines, cardiovascular disease was the country’s leading killer in 2025, accounting for 19.8% of all deaths, or approximately one Filipino life lost every four minutes. During a media health briefing titled “Closing the Healthcare Gap for Filipinos,” The Medical City Clinics Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mariann Almajar, FPCP, FPCC, revealed a glaring reality: heart risks are no longer confined to older age groups, with atherosclerosis quietly accelerating in adults throughout their 30s and 40s.

Compounding this issue, hypertension, high cholesterol, and early diabetes present virtually no symptoms, leaving nearly half of affected Filipinos unaware of their condition until a major health crisis occurs. With out-of-pocket medical spending reaching 41.2% of total national health expenditures, serious cardiac care such as angioplasty or bypass surgery continues to place a heavy burden on family savings and long-term financial stability.

Closing the healthcare gap with global coverage

To address this growing gap between healthcare needs and financial certainty, InLife introduced InLife Global Care, a premium health insurance solution engineered to give Filipinos greater control during critical health events.

Tailored for business owners, senior professionals, and globally minded families, the plan offers up to ₱125 million in annual coverage with cashless service options and access to top accredited healthcare providers in the Philippines and abroad. It offers comprehensive inpatient coverage and essential outpatient and preventive care benefits for important healthcare needs. It is also an essential supplement to one’s Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) coverage such as major hospitalizations, serious illnesses and cancer treatments, medical consultation and diagnostics, and emergency treatment outside areas of coverage, for up to ₱12.5 million, subject to policy terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions.

InLife Global Care has a guaranteed annual renewability up to age 99, and a built-in life insurance protection equivalent to the premiums paid for the covered period, up to age 70  for as long as the plan remains active, with no claims for the covered period. InLife Global Care ensures that a major medical event does not derail family finances, investments, or corporate cash flows.

“Healthcare confidence is knowing that when a serious medical situation happens, you have choices, resources, and someone you can rely on to help you move forward. InLife Global Care aims to provide all these and more, helping those who have worked hard to build their careers, businesses, and family wealth recognize that protecting their health is just as important as protecting their financial future,” said InLife Chief Product and Innovation Officer Jose Eduardo O. Ang.

Pioneering preventive wellness through Facial AI

Complementing this high-value coverage, the event provided an exclusive preview of InLife HealthCheck, a preventive wellness tool designed to encourage proactive health monitoring. Powered by remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) technology and advanced facial AI, InLife HealthCheck allows users to obtain a snapshot of over 30 wellness indicators through a simple 60-second video selfie on a mobile device. By detecting blood flow beneath the skin, this feature empowers individuals to track key health metrics early, making routine wellness tracking accessible long before symptoms appear.

Harmonies in Life: A cultural celebration of life

After conversations centered on protecting health and securing the future, InLife turned the spotlight to another essential part of a meaningful life: the people, culture and experiences that make life worth protecting. Members of InLife’s Amorsolo Circle, an elite membership program for InLife’s most valued policyholders, were treated to Harmonies In Life, a musical performance celebrating Filipino heritage. The Philippine Opera Company presented its award-winning production HARANA, taking the audience on a musical journey through traditional folk melodies, tribal chants, classic kundiman, and contemporary pieces. Honored with the 2024 LEAF (Live Entertainment, Arts, and Festivals) Award for Outstanding Group Performance in a Concert alongside international citations, HARANA highlighted the enduring strength and artistry of the Filipino spirit.

InLife Dreamweaver and Philippine show business Megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan was also a guest performer, providing a heartwarming breather to a day dedicated to physical health, financial security, and cultural heritage. She received her own InLife Global Care policy from Executive Chair Nina D. Aguas and President and CEO Raoul Antonio E. Littaua.

Achieving total healthcare confidence

Beyond an afternoon of vital health insights and world-class performances, the gathering highlighted a fundamental truth: true well-being encompasses physical and mental well-being, and the certainty of financial protection. InLife Global Care aims to provide this so that when serious medical decisions arise, Filipinos have greater confidence: combining access to world-class care, delivered with a genuine Filipino heart, and backed by InLife certainty.
