As the nation commemorates the 128th Philippine Independence Day, SM Supermalls, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), continues its commitment to empowering Filipinos through accessible employment opportunities with back-to-back job fairs in Northern Metro Manila.
Leading the lineup is the Kalayaan Job Fair at SM City Valenzuela on June 11, followed by the Independence Day Job Fair at SM Center Sangandaan on June 12, bringing together jobseekers, employers, and government agencies in a unified effort to promote employment and economic growth.
The two-day employment initiative forms part of SM and DOLE’s nationwide Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fair program, one of the country’s largest coordinated hiring activities held in celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
At SM City Valenzuela on June 11, applicants will have the opportunity to connect with a wide range of local and overseas employers offering positions across various industries. The event is expected to attract fresh graduates, graduating students, first-time job seekers, career shifters, and experienced professionals looking for new career opportunities.
The momentum continues on June 12 at SM Center Sangandaan, where the Independence Day Job Fair will coincide with the nationwide observance of Araw ng Kalayaan. The event underscores the significance of freedom not only as a historical achievement but also as an opportunity for Filipinos to secure meaningful employment and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Beyond job matching, both job fairs will serve as one-stop employment hubs, offering convenient access to government services from agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, DOLE, and Public Employment Service Offices (PESO). These services are designed to help applicants process employment requirements more efficiently.
Jobseekers can also explore upskilling opportunities made available through partnerships with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Jobstreet, and various industry partners.
The continued success of the SM-DOLE partnership highlights the growing impact of accessible employment programs nationwide. During the Labor Day Job Fairs held on May 1, more than 17,000 jobseekers participated in simultaneous events across 15 SM malls, resulting in over 1,000 hired-on-the-spot applicants.
From January to May 2026 alone, SM and DOLE have already conducted 66 job fairs nationwide, serving more than 57,000 jobseekers and generating over 6,000 hired-on-the-spot placements.
Applicants attending the job fairs are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume, valid identification cards, a ballpen, and other pertinent credentials. Participating companies are expected to conduct on-the-spot interviews, with many offering immediate hiring opportunities.
