From quieter rides to lower operating costs, the VinFast Limo Green is emerging as a practical EV choice for both TNVS work and family use.
The undeniable advantages of electric vehicles in terms of operating costs and driving performance convinced Paul Simbulan, a ride-hailing driver from Quezon, to choose the VinFast Limo Green. The decision, he said, turned out to be highly practical, giving him a spacious family vehicle while also helping him generate stable daily income through TNVS operations.
One vehicle, two roles
Before switching to an EV, Simbulan had long preferred gasoline-powered MPVs for family outings. However, increased exposure to electric mobility gradually changed his perspective.
“I had booked Green SM rides for the whole family several times in the past,” Simbulan shared. “Every time, the Limo Green felt very comfortable inside, and the cabin was noticeably quiet even in heavy traffic. I also spoke with several drivers already using the vehicle before deciding to buy one myself.”
After several months of operating the Limo Green, Simbulan said he now sees it as a true “two-in-one” vehicle, capable of handling both family needs and commercial transport work effectively.
The vehicle’s driving range of up to 450 km per full charge gives him much greater flexibility for longer trips and airport transfers. He added that the fast-charging capability, which allows the battery to recharge in around 30 minutes, helps maximize operating time throughout the day.
“A short charging stop is enough for a quick rest before heading out again,” he said. “It doesn’t really interrupt the workday.”
In terms of driving performance, Simbulan said the Limo Green feels noticeably different from traditional gasoline MPVs. With output reaching 150 kW and 280 Nm of torque, the vehicle accelerates smoothly and responds quickly in urban traffic conditions.
The spacious seven-seat cabin further increases the vehicle’s practicality.
“The cabin feels solid and roomy,” Simbulan said. “It works well for family trips, but it is also ideal for carrying passengers.”
He added that the larger passenger capacity also improves business efficiency, especially for airport bookings, group rides, and fixed-route transport services.
Lower costs, more income to take home
For ride-hailing drivers, stable performance is only part of the equation. Operating costs are equally important because they directly affect how much income drivers can retain.
That is another area where Simbulan believes the Limo Green stands out. Alongside significantly lower charging costs compared with gasoline vehicles, VinFast also offers its user free charging support at V-Green stations through March 2029 in Southeast Asia, including for commercial users.
For high-mileage ride-hailing drivers, fuel expenses from a conventional gasoline MPV can easily reach several thousand pesos per month. Over the course of nearly three years, that can add up to hundreds of thousands of pesos in operating costs.
By comparison, Limo Green drivers using the free charging support policy can effectively bring their running costs close to zero during the support period. For drivers operating daily, the difference could mean retaining a substantially larger share of their income over time.
Real-world EV experiences are also helping reinforce confidence among Filipino users.
One example came from a VinFast user surnamed Santos, who recently shared his experience in a VinFast Facebook community after completing an extensive Luzon road trip.
In just 12 days and nearly 2,900 kilometers, Santos drove through Marikina, Batangas, Tagaytay, Quezon, Naga, Caramoan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Baguio. Despite covering 10 destinations, he said the total charging expense amounted to only around PHP 1,900.
“Sobrang sulit,” he wrote[1].
Stories like this may explain why more transport drivers are beginning to consider EVs not just as personal vehicles, but also as practical business tools, and not just in the Philippines.
That growing demand is also reflected in VinFast’s home market of Vietnam, where the Limo Green has become a highly popular vehicle for ride-hailing and fleet operations. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, combined sales of the Limo Green and its sibling model, the VF MPV 7, a more family-oriented electric MPV designed for private ownership, exceeded 16,000 units, with the Limo Green accounting for 12,471 vehicles, topping the mid-size MPV segment[2].
For drivers who want to enter the ride-hailing business without spending heavily upfront, VinFast recently introduced its Green vehicle rental program in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Under the program, customers can rent vehicles from VinFast’s Green lineup through authorized dealerships alongside the traditional purchase route. The initiative was designed to help drivers begin earning quickly through lower upfront costs and fixed daily rental rates starting from PHP 1,000 in the Philippines.
VinFast said the program was launched amid ongoing fuel price volatility, allowing drivers to access cost-effective EVs without the burden of full vehicle ownership.
The rental model centers around VinFast’s Green lineup, including the Limo Green, which was specifically developed for high-frequency transport services and passenger operations.
For Simbulan, the appeal is ultimately simple. The same vehicle that comfortably carries his family on weekends is also helping support his livelihood throughout the week.
“I still recommend the Limo Green to friends whenever they ask about EVs,” he said.
