Our favorite post-punk extraordinaire, lambanog brewer, skater, and barber Sexy Jay has dropped yet another gritty track on streaming, and it’s the crowd favorite “Singaw”—out on May 21, 2026, via Offshore Music.
The Taguig-based art punk artist had already been performing this song live for years, where it generated countless reactions for its absurd premise surrounding the pain of mouth ulcers and its hypnotic instrumentation reminiscent of the brooding energy of Joy Division’s “Disorder,” off the classic 1979 album, Unknown Pleasures.
“July last year nabuo yung idea ng “Singaw”, pero hindi pa final yung process non [I got to create “Singaw” July of last year, but the process of it was not final yet],” Jay Villarosa (the man behind Sexy Jay), shares, citing where the song first came to be, “May singaw ako nung time na yon kaya yan pumasok na lyrics habang pinapakinggan ko yung beat na nagawa ko [I had mouth ulcers then so those were the lyrics I thought of while listening to the beat I created].”
A lyric video of “Singaw” will also be available upon release day. Created by Jyzel Monzon, the video will be released on Offshore Music PH‘s official YouTube channel.
When asked why “Singaw” was the second single that followed his anticipated first release “Daga”, the artist simply stated that this is his second favorite track in his upcoming album, set to be released sometime in June 2026.
