Maureen Schrijvers Weathers Uncertainty By Doing This One Thing

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in today’s volatile world, it’s that uncertainties can arrive at any time of any day. The only thing that we can do is to prepare ourselves as best we can and ensure that we’re building a better tomorrow for ourselves and our loved ones, which is precisely what Maureen Schrijvers, a Filipino-Belgian athlete and TV personality, has been doing.

At 28 years young, she gave herself the best gift she possibly could, the day she purchased her first insurance with EastWest Ageas — which was peace of mind. “Insurance plays like a safety net in my life – which I never had growing up. We weren’t fortunate enough to have a safety net or money. Therefore, I always looked at insurance as something expensive or only for the ones who can afford it. To be able to have that security is an incomparable feeling of safety”, says Schrijvers.

Being the multi-hyphenate person she is, Maureen dedicates her time to pursuing her passions. She is a member of the Philippine national athletics team and has won two bronze medals in the Southeast Asian Games, in 2019 and 2021. Besides sports, she is also an animal welfare advocate, and a GMA Sparkle artist, co-hosting the morning show Kada Umaga on NET 25.

Peace of mind lets her stay focused on all the roles she’s taken on. Having a financial advisor in her corner helps guide her towards financial plans best suited for her current needs as well as her future goals.

For those who are still pursuing their countless dreams, her advice is “to start now. There’s no right time, right salary amount, right moment to wait for. Starting now, with what you already have is what’s best to build a better tomorrow. EastWest Ageas can help you find what will suit your needs, so don’t worry about not having enough to start with.”
