Armscor conducts successful 20th TACS expo in Davao City

Resident of Davao City and nearby areas flocked to the 20th Tactical, Survival and Arms (TACS) Expo of ARMSCOR Global Defense Inc., the leading manufacturer of firearms and ammunition in the Philippines, held last February 8-11, 2024 at SMX Davao, SM Lanang, Davao City.

In his message, Davao City mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte expressed his optimism that the four-day event would significantly contribute in fostering “a sense of  security and safety” and in “sustaining a safer and more resilient city,” underscoring the importance of self-defense, self-reliance and preparedness to safeguard the well-being of the people and the community.

“We believe that there is a need to develop essential life skills and equip ourselves with tools that will enable us to be proactive in protecting ourselves when needed,” the mayor emphasized in his message.

Participating booths provided expo visitors the opportunity to explore various tools, gadgets and equipment not only for self-defense and survival but for rescue  purposes as well.

Also on display were the latest products and technology from firearms and defense manufacturers. One of them is the RIA 5.0E, an enhanced version of the RIA 5.0 – a revolutionary 9-mm hammer-fired semiautomatic pistol manufactured  by Armscor’s Rock Island Armory located in Cedar City, Utah. The TACS Expo in Davao was the firt time that the RIA 5.0E was showcased in a provincial expo.

A License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) processing caravan along with express releasing services was also made available to exhibit visitors.

Present during the opening day of the four-day event were Philippine National Police (PNP) Civil Security Group Director Major General Benjamin Silo Jr. who was also the guest of honor and speaker, officials from the Davao City Police Regional Office in Davao Region (PRO-11), and executives from Armscor and Squires Bingham International.
