SM Bear of Joy Brings Happiness to Orphaned Kids, PWDs

Opening the year on a compassionate note, SM Malls in Grand Central and Valenzuela reaffirm their commitment to uplifting communities with their annual SM Bears of Joy donation. This year, the initiative takes on a heartwarming angle, as all 800 donated plushies are exclusively gifted to children with special needs and persons with disabilities.

SM City Valenzuela led the way by donating 450 Bears of Joy, while SM City Grand Central contributed 350 plushies to the cause, targeting children with special needs. These adorable plush companions, inspired by the vibrant worlds of KPop and PPop, have found their way to various beneficiaries, including orphanages, child community centers like Bahay Kalinga Valenzuela, and other related organizations like Valenzuela’s Persons with Disability Affairs Office and Alliance of PWD in Caloocan City Inc.

The 2023 BPOP Bears of Joy, featuring characters like Eya, Bin, Rina, and Ace from the BPop Squad, have not only become cherished companions for many shoppers but have also evolved into symbols of hope and happiness for the children who received them.

SM Cares, Toy Kingdom, and SM Supermalls spearhead this collaborative effort, emphasizing the rich tapestry of Filipino values that highlights the spirit of giving, love, and community. More than just toys, these plush companions serve as beacons of joy, reminding us all of the power of collective goodwill and the profound impact that kindness and generosity can have on the lives of those in need.
