Tech Innovator HPE Joins VSTECS CXO Innovation Summit 2021

VSTECS Phils, Inc. hosted in December last year the CXO Innovation Summit 2021, the largest virtual gathering of tech brands and IT leaders.

With the theme “Smarter Business. Smarter World,” the online summit aimed at helping participants navigate the many complexities brought about by this pandemic, foster a culture of change, and embrace a digital-first mindset.

During the 4-day summit, 39 leading ICT brands participated, featuring 73 sessions and 72 local and regional speakers. The event has been an important venue for tech providers and key IT decision-makers to exchange insights, industry trends, and technology updates since 2018.

Joining the leading companies and industry luminaries who discussed how to accelerate the data-first modernization across edge to cloud is Joel Josol, HPE Philippines Presale Manager. On the topic “Shifts from Infrastructure First to Data-First Modernization,” Mr. Josol discussed how hybrid cloud is affecting the future of connectivity and how HPE technologies that will move one’s business forward, faster.

The Digital Divide and How to Catch Up

According to Mr. Josol, despite the major investments in digital transformation, a lot of companies are under-performing their efforts to adapt, with nearly half being left behind. This poor performance widens the transformation divide, with 67% of CEOs feeling that heir companies are losing ground.

On the other hand, the winning brands are writing a new playbook with next-gen operating models:

  • Customer experience is king
  • Ever-expanding stream of services
  • Data is everywhere, everything is instrumented
  • Continuous pulses of innovation
  • Speed is the new currency

So, what made these companies successful in adapting these?

The Value of Data

Data is the lifeforce, Mr. Josol said. Data is essential for activating next-gen operating models to deliver rich experiences, accelerate decision velocity, and deliver continuous streams of innovation.

Digital transformation cannot be realized without data-first modernization approach, across edge to data center to cloud, he added.

According to Mr. Josol, operating a hybrid cloud enables customers to get the best of both worlds. There is the stability and robustness of core applications running on a private cloud with the agility and scalability available in public cloud service. Available and highly performant service that delivers the right capacity and performance needed by business applications with the goal of delivering good customer experiences.

However, moving more workloads to the public cloud is not the answer. Public Cloud is not a one-size, fits-all for businesses interested in making a success of digital transformation.

To leap ahead, focus must shift from infrastructure first approach to data-first approach.

Here are 5 data-first modernization imperatives to fast-forward your digital transformation across edge cloud.

To date, there are global powerhouses winning the game of digital transformation because they focus on their data. This companies were able to leap across the transformation divide with the help of HPE, an edge-to-cloud company powering data-first modernization.

Why HPE Can Help

HPE has a consumption service called HPE GreenLake. An edge-to-cloud platform, HPE GreenLake that allows you to:

But how does an HPE GreenLake solution help customers to run their data centers more efficiently?

According to Mr. Josol, businesses wanted IT to be more agile when it comes to providing the computing power and storage capacity to hold customer data. But businesses also are not willing to spend big budgets up front. Customer IT, on the other hand, wanted to get a handle of the technology deployed, giving them choice, the right mix of technology, but on pay-per-use basis or consumption basis similar to the public cloud experience. HPE GreenLake delivers to both these goals –  choice of the right mix of technology, with available extra capacity to address peaks in application performance, supported with the highest service levels, metered according to application behavior, and paid as a consumption service.

Now for the economic benefit of HPE to costumers, Mr. Josol referred to the Forrester Study called “The Total Economic Impact of HPE GreenLake – Business Benefits and Cost Savings Enabled by HPE GreenLake”, quoting:

“Forrester’s interviews with existing HPE GreenLake customers and subsequent financial analysis found that a global organization with 5 petabytes of storage and $8M worth of physical assets could expect to experience benefits of $25.0M present value (PV) over three years versus costs of $10.1M PV, adding up to a net present value (NPV) of about $14.9M. Over the same period, the composite organization could achieve a 147% ROI in HPE GreenLake. To date, HPE GreenLake has added more than 300 new GreenLake customers during fiscal year 2021, bringing our customer count to more than 1,250. We added more than $1.5 billion of GreenLake total contract value over the last year, bringing the total to more than $5.7 billion (from Q4 earnings call).”
