Sparking Hope & Joy: Globe’s G Music Fest rallies Filipinos to relive the joys of live music while supporting advocacies

On its second year, Globe’s G Music Fest brought in some of the country’s top acts, including artists SB19, Silent Sanctuary, December Avenue, Alamat, I Belong to the Zoo, and The Juans for a night of reminiscing, intimate fun, and sharing of good vibes. The music event, which was bigger than ever, featured international headliners BEKA, Vance Joy and HONNE who culminated the show with their hit records such as I’ll be there, Riptide, and Day 1 respectively, among others.

Sponsored by foodpanda, the two-day event raked in a total of 1.45M video views, which helped contribute to more than P2M worth of donations to Globe’s various advocacy and community partners.

In the G Music Fest Up Close, hosted by Martin Javier and Hershey Neri, fans witnessed the artists’ serious and fun sides through the question and answer segment, along with several challenges that gave viewers a chance to virtually bond and get to know their music idols.

Just like how Globe encourages acts of kindness to spread #GDayEveryday, HONNE’s James and Andy also extended their encouragement for viewers to perform good deeds and charitable acts, so that they may lift the spirits of those around them.

Meanwhile, BEKA talked about the importance of authenticity which is at the core of her song-writing. Vance Joy shared that he gets inspiration most especially when he is having great experiences with friends and family.

The highly-celebrated group SB19 also talked about being an inspiration for their fans. “Yung fame temporary yan, pero yung nabibigay mong hope sa kanila pang-habangbuhay. Pwedeng magbago ang buhay nila,” said member Josh Santos.

On the second day, the hosts Mikael Daez and Megan Young added even more good vibes being music fans themselves. The 5-hour concert stirred a mix of feelings among audiences from love, longing, joy, to excitement — with some even taking on the challenge to admit their affections for their crushes and others tagging their fellow fans as each of their favorite artists performed and thanking them for the seemingly special serenade.

By the end of the concert, Globe announced the grand winner of the G Chance The Raffle who got to win P1 million GCash credits.  Other prizes raffled included shopping vouchers from Lazada and Uniqlo, subscription vouchers for VIU, Nintendo Switch, Huawei Matebook, Philips Air Fryer and juicer, and Ooni Pizza Maker.

A portion of the Rewards Points used to get a raffle entry will be donated to Rise Against Hunger, Walang Iwanan Alliance, PGH Medical Foundation, and other partner beneficiaries.

“This year’s 917 celebrations proved to be our biggest and best yet. We hope our customers and those that tuned in felt the love and gratitude that we and our artists put into the show. May these events serve as our inspiration to continue sharing the good that we have with our peers and communities,” said Bianca Wong, Head of Globe’s Feel Valued Tribe.
