Pag-IBIG Fund, UnionBank reach 1 Million Customers through Loyalty Card Plus

Pag-IBIG Fund, in partnership with Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank), has officially reached 1 million customers through the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus program. The operations continue to expand this year to reach out to more Pag-IBIG members.

The Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus is a program by Pag-IBIG Fund in partnership with BSP-regulated universal banks wherein the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card is enhanced to include bank account and debit card functionalities for crediting of Pag-IBIG proceeds (e.g., short-term loans, dividend pay-outs, provident benefit claims) to Pag-IBIG members. The Card can also be used as a discount and rewards card for claiming discounts and freebies in over 300 Pag-IBIG partner merchants and as a personal savings account. The joint project with UnionBank started in July 2019.

The Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus powered by UnionBank allows Pag-IBIG members to access UnionBank’s basic debit card services such as money withdrawal from any ATM and cashless payment through Bancnet and Visa point-of-sale (POS) systems worldwide. Cardholders can also register to the UnionBank Online mobile app to enjoy a 24/7 banking experience including account viewing, fund transfer to other bank accounts and wallets, sending money through remittance centers, buying load, bills payment and mobile check deposit. The account does not require a maintaining balance to remain active.

Through the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus program with UnionBank, the Fund was able to disburse a total of P 6.9 billion to Pag-IBIG members. UnionBank aims to service six additional Pag-IBIG branches this year in different locations nationwide as the need for members to avail of their loan benefits grows amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

To get a Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus, Pag-IBIG members can visit their nearest Pag-IBIG Fund branch and pay P125.00. Companies may also arrange a schedule with the Pag-IBIG Fund branches for an employer deployment event wherein kiosks are set up in their office for bulk issuance of Loyalty Card Plus to the employees.
