The 5th Edition of Asia’s leading sports business conference and awards platform, SPIA Asia – Asia’s Sports Industry Awards & Conference, is proud to announce the participation of football legend, Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, and track and field superstar, Dr. Edwin Moses. The veteran athletes draw from years of sporting experience, both on and off the field, to discuss opportunities for the growth and development of sports, as well as its capacity to unite and uphold sports integrity.
Following his retirement in 2011, Ronaldo functioned as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, as well as becoming the ambassador for the 2014 FIFA World Club. He is currently the Chairman of LaLiga club Real Valladolid. Moses, on the other hand, has continued upholding his advocacy for integrity, fairness, and Olympic eligibility. He serves as the Chairman of Education at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and the Founding Chairman of Laureus Sport For Good.
Ronaldo and Moses’ talks are just some of the notable highlights to expect in this year’s SPIA Asia, which will see over 600 delegates and 60 international speakers gathered at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Philippines, from December 2 to 3, 2019. The holistic conference will host panel discussions on the business of sports, encompassing diversity, tolerance, and inclusion in sports; strategies in sports sponsorships and activations; opportunities for football and basketball’s growth in the Philippines and Asia; and advancements in technology and e-sports.
SPIA Asia will also host its annual edition of the SPIA Asia Awards, Asia’s most prestigious and credible awards platform, recognizing and celebrating sporting excellence of the industry, including this year’s inaugural “Best Asian Sportsman”, “Best Asian Sportswoman” and “Best Asian Sports Team of the Year” awards.
