A lot has changed in the pet care and grooming industry since Dogs and the City opened its first store in 2005. Haydee D. Chua, the lady behind the one-stop-shop, wanted to give the very best for her four-legged friends, but couldn’t find a local shop that met her needs. Trips abroad were spent sourcing and purchasing for her furry ones, which eventually led to the opening of Dogs and the City. The very first 18-sqm store in Frontera Verde, Tiendesitas, Pasig City, was a humble shop that offered pet food, treats and accessories.

It only took less than two years for Dogs and the City to expand, with a bigger store in SM Mall of Asia that opened in June 2007. Other branches followed suit at Fort Bonifacio, Eastwood City, Trinoma, Lucky Chinatown, Alabang Town Center, Greenhills Shopping Center, Bluebay Walk, and Solenad in Nuvali, with an online shop by 2013. By then, all the stores have been upgraded to clean and pastel-washed interiors and brightly-colored custom fixtures, making the stores inviting for both pets and its owners. Dogs and the City also added grooming, day care, and veterinary services to its offerings to selected branches, making sure it meets all the needs of your adorable pets.

Staying true to its mission to be “the shopping destination for the most discerning pet owners,” Dogs and the City promises to enrich your pet’s lifestyle by offering upscale pet merchandise that is unique and functional. They also provide services to make sure that your pet is healthy and happy. “We conduct regular trainings for our managers, sales representatives, groomers, and veterinarians. It is important to keep ourselves updated with regards to the new trends such as food diet and hairstyles,” explains Haydee.

Dogs and the City, as the name implies, isn’t just for your precious dogs. Haydee adds that, “We cater mostly to dogs and cats in terms of grooming services. Our product offerings are concentrated mostly to dogs and cats, although we also offer fish, hamster and rabbit food and accessories in selected stores.”
